Stuff will leak out over the next couple of years, and a lot of stuff is going to change anyway. Be encouraged, though. The film's story has good bones, and I think by the time they work out the kinks and refine, they're going to end up with a very special movie. You know it's going to be a labor of love.

It just occurred to me (maybe I'm being dumb) that perhaps Disney have wanted to have a black princess for a while, but needed to find a way of working the story so that it would fit. Having black people in a European fairytale world would have probably garnered a lot of criticism as to why they didn't just use an African story. I don't know why they wouldn't, there are some great ones out there - possibly because of name recognition, but moving the story forward in time and setting it in the US might just be what they needed to do to redress the balance. I don't know the story of The Frog Princess so I don't know if that one over others was easier to convert, but I just wondered this is something they've been thinking about for a while!!!

Remember, she's a servant, who wants to build a life for herself and maybe even start her own business. That said, she's not perfect, and she's kind of loud and outspoken - which I see as a strength and very endearing. My opinion is they're going to really create a memorable character here, that audiences are going to warmly embrace.
