When I was waiting in line for the Fun Wheel yesterday, I noticed that they had the lights running, and they were in color. It appeared like they were blue/purple most of the time, and they were almost constantly chasing. It also looked like they had the spots where the spokes intersect the wheel as white lights while all that was going on.

I don't know what their plan is for the general programming of the wheel, but I hope that they keep the lighting period appropriate for the majority of the time. As impressive as the colors are, I think they will be even more impressive if they are left for only during the show. After all, how impressive would it be if they had the dragon out on Tom Sawyer Island all day? It doesn't fit with the theme of the area, and it takes away from the show's wow factor, so I really hope that they make the Fun Wheel's general lighting scheme white/yellowish to fit in with the proper time era that they're spending so much money on.

On a semi-related note, I saw last night after Minnie's Madness that they were doing some tests with the search lights on the castle for the new fireworks. It wasn't anything particularly remarkable, but it was kind of neat to see how they were doing it. I really liked how they seemed to be moving around in the sky them alot and doing some neat backlighting on the castle at times.

It could be either marvelously disconcerting to see them going off around you, especially when your car is swinging/moving on the track, or a major "code-V alert" for those prone to that.

But they did a "chase" pattern where a whole spoke would light up, then the next one, then the next one... in your peripheral vision, you could see the spokes you WEREN'T on lighting up and going dark (and the spokes across from you in your regular vision), and when your own spoke lit up, there was a noticeable "glow" even if you didn't see the lights directly.

And that was with stationary cars. I was just wondering what the effect would be when you're sliding in towards the center and back out again while the light show is going on. Maybe it wouldn't be much. But it's possible it could be either kinda cool or kinda motion-sickness inducing if you're prone to it. I guess we'll have to wait till people can ride it while the lights are doing their thing.

But if there's one thing I DO know, it's that punitive damages should exceed at least 5 times the regular damages incurred in a textbook case of fiduciary fraud.

Not that it really makes that big of a difference, but that might make it difficult to know exactly which part of the wheel will light up (as the spokes will be in different places each night), but I don't know how big of a deal that would be. I would bet that the view from up there would be pretty sweet (and a little moist) during the show.
