Now we have a 3 car garage which used to have 3 cars and an indoor dog run in it when DS lived home. It has 2 big windows and a regular door, so there was plenty of ventilation for the pooch. Now it has 2 and alot of space for a 3rd. And the dog run is gone. Living with ice and snow in the winter and heat in the summer, I love having a garage for the cars. It means getting into a clean, dry car during inclement weather. What a luxury after many years of garden apartment living.

Did I mention my white car turns green from pollen in the spring, and is regularly bombarded with bird droppings?

We get along great EXCEPT when it comes to how much time he spends in the garage (and how much I shop, LOL). Remember how Dr. Phil's producers wanted us on their show about opposites? There ya go! LOL I really wanted to get to some sort of happy medium, but I'm thinking it's never going to happen. Good thing he's such a sweetheart otherwise. LUCKY FOR HIM! LOL

We bought our first new car back in Y2000, and it was wonderful to be able to have the car in the garage. Most of the people in our complex had to park in the street or in open carports. I got spoiled with having the car in the garage, and I think having it in a garage has prolonged the life of my car. I can't imagine not having a garage for my car.

I've never felt particularlly safe having a car parked in the garage -- all that gasoline and stuff sitting right next to the pilot light for the hot water heater... yikes. Just last week, a home by us burned down due to gasoline in their garage (although it was oily rags that were the culprit, not a car parked there.)

A lot of the toys that we keep in the shed or hung up around the garage during the colder months we'll keep down since the kids are using them so often.
