I do love walking around there, though, and for that, you can't beat the price. Since we're old, we kind of enjoy going onto the SC Pier and having a bite to eat. That's kind of our speed. DCA as originally built was kind of made for people like us, it seems. We were just at the Mystery Spot a few weeks ago. That's fun. But it's no Haunted Shack. Afterwards, we drove down to Castroville to get some deep fried artichokes at one of the little stands. Really great. Always get it from the stands, and not the restaurants....it's totally fresh that way.

Commitments have come from national chains such as Bubba Gump's, Bar Louie, Cheesecake Factory, McCormick & Schmick Grill, P.F. Chang's and Roy's of Hawaii. Developer Excel Realty Holdings of San Diego is targeting three different sets of clients for its outdoor shopping and dining mall along Katella Avenue: the leisure tourist, the convention visitor and the local resident. Excel saw its challenge as bringing a unique experience to Anaheim. The company's answer was to appeal to the best national and regional tenants, so the mall would offer what couldn't be found elsewhere. GardenWalk was conceived as a natural hub for the resort area of Anaheim. The mall was designed to be pedestrian-friendly and to encourage visitors to linger in the concourses and the gardens. The first phase of restaurants in GardenWalk is set to open in November. << I presume they are talking about The Cheesecake Factory, Bubba Gump's and Roy's on Katella, they are on the edge of the center, and would be easy to get open first.

The buildings I saw on Katella were nothing more than steel frames. Was I looking at the wrong construction site?
