Quote "City officials envision GardenWalk as a place where local residents and visitors to Disneyland, the Anaheim Convention Center or Angel Stadium can spend a few hours eating or shopping. For hotel proprietors, it is an answer to their guests' fine-dining and shopping needs." There are a few interesting new attractions in this mall like a fitness center and an aquarium. The GardenWalk may actually do better than I thought with the new condo and apartments nearby. It will provide a way for people to walk from the east side to Disneyland. Thus expanding the whole entertainment zone. Maybe it will work.

Pasadena is kind of ambivalent about it. I think many local residents, because of their sense that the neighborhood around Disneyland is very touristy and congested, will continue to shop elsewhere, while many of the out-of-town visitors -- from other parts of Orange County, or Southern Calif or beyond -- who do make a trek to Anaheim won't stray too far away from, if at all, the properties controlled by the DisCo.

The freeway would be a wide divider right down the middle, destroying lots of architecturally significant places. These neighborhoods get used for filming all of the time. The 710 Long Beach Freeway actually goes past the 10 to Valley Blvd. Ever drive on the 710 southbound in the evening? It is already bumber to bumber crawl. If you were to add in traffic coming southbound from the 210/134 and 110, it would be so slow it would be going backwards.

Some of the things mentioned (aquarium, etc). might make me check it out. But not if it's just standard stores and restaurants. Night spots for convention visitors who feel they're too "adult" for DTD - now that might work.

Has anyone seen concpet art of the new development. Have they changed it from the most recent one released a few months back that showed the large waterfalls?
