Also, the suspension and drivetrain has proven to be a complete failure for even light offroad adventures. Simply put, its just not a good vehicle. And its waaaay overpriced for what it is.

When we bought my college age daughter a car to go away to school with 2 years ago- we bought a Corolla-- as she drives 6 hours home - and as a student teacher she commutes every day...so that made sense for her. But I really get tired of people telling others what they can and cannot drive. There are different circumstances for everything. We need a 4WD vehicle as both my kids hae played club sports - especially volleyball-- and we leave at 5 AM a lot of times to get to the torunaments by 7 A. In the Chicago area the snowplows are not up that early, and I need something safe enough an capable enough to get there..and the CRV - RAV4 etc -- doesnothing for me and will not allow us to pick up more than 1 other kid --- so as long as I am the one putting the gas inthe car I will be making the choices. Wait until they change the EPA ratings to what cars "really' get very shortly... a lot of people driving a lot of cars, especially a lot of American made sedans will be shocked... If the day and time comes when reserves are really the issue, as opposed to record profits from Exxon and others, then I may reconsider

To be fair, there really isn't any discrimination between American and foreign made cars when the new EPA ratings come out. The new ratings make the gas mileage ratings currently in use look inflated for cars made in America as well as Japan, Korea, etc.
