    I think you may have confused my posts with those of others. There were exactly TWO posts in this thread where I mentioned anything about status (#204 and #234, and #234 was a conciliatory post). Some others took the concept and ran with it, but it was NOT ME.

    London Luton airport is 30 miles north of London, and there are a couple of county lines in between.

    Do these things bother anyone?

    As for DL's location, it was place where the demographic forecasts predicted would be the middle of the LA/OC conurbation. Hence if people are ok with talking about Tokyo DL or Disneyland Paris, why is it then wrong to talk about DL or the Angels in LA?

But "The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim" name is annoying to me, especially since "The California Angels" and "The Anaheim Angels" were perfectly good names.

    I was born in San Bernadino County, spent a year in Riverside, and then spent 17 in Pacific Palisades (LA county) and 4 in San Diego. When people say DL is in LA I correct them. I am not surprised when people call LA lala land, but I do then assume that they don't know very much about it.

    So with that (flawed) logic I guess Gay Pride will inevitably come to an end too.

    I hope so. Gay Pride is as ridiculous as Fat Pride, Racial Pride or Gender Pride.

But what I dislike vehemently is how the media focuses on the drag queens .. and not the regular folks .. which far outnumber the ones who like painting themselves up. And as I went to two marches for Marriage Equality in Sydney .. the major point people need to understand in these gatherings is - Numbers. We are not some tiny spec in the population that can be swept aside.
