The sarcasm and the "catching gay" comments were uncalled for.

It's just the idea of "be who you want to be", yet don't throw it in my face, and don't be vulgar about it.

IMO, chanting slogans like this doesn't do much for the gay cause. T-shirts, bumper stickers, mottos, whatever, shouldn't contain lingo like this, even if the intent was self-effacing. It gives those who are having a hard time accepting gay culture ammunition to use against them.

Because, as we all know, Walt was way ahead of his time in terms of "tolerance of other religions, races and 'lifestyles'".

    What would Walt think? Seriously.

I'll avoid gay days in the future...thats my choice. I don't like some of the things I saw on saturday...thats my opinion. I disagree with the politicly correct viewpoint that being gay is normal....thats my right. Tolerence has nothing to do with acceptance.

Isn't that what's being said here? With all of the sarcastic, "cute" responses to the OP?

Personally, I would be avoiding the "Christian Days" at the park. As well as the "Cheer Days" (which, I unfortunately did not this past spring).

I would also like to know when these are going to be happening, so I can specifically not be there. Am I intolerant? Am I ignorant? No. It's just not something that I want to be around. Thank you very much.

Oh, I don't know. Should we have tolerated segregation? Many people had the view 40 years ago that that was perfectly acceptable and they weren't hardcore bigots either - just people who had been raised to look at things that way. IMO, it was right to challenge that, and even if you can't change everyone's heart, you can still move mountains.

Gay people are not depraved (whether you believe it or not), nor is it a *given* that they will do something disgusting and/or overtly sexual while they are at Disneyland. There will always be a few people who will misbehave in public. It's not right to shove all of that onto Gay people and then get offended when someone tells you that you are closed-minded.

The vast majority of the population does not want to see people tonguing each other in the park and most people understand that but Gays don't do anything in the parks that many heteros do on a daily basis. It sounds to me like most of the people at DL this weekend didn't see very much to get uptight about but it's sad that it's automatically assumed that it would be overly offensive just because a lot of Gays are there.

You know, I can see your point...but I can also see the point of those who would prefer to not have the sarcastic, "cute" comments when they inquire about something which is an issue to them.

Somehow, with some of the responses on here, I don't see it as an "assumption" on the part of the people who would question what goes on.

Some people are uncomfortable with the gay "way of life". Good, bad or indifferent, this is something that is a fact. But, gee, instead of trying to understand where they are coming from, let's mock them. Because if people would deign to even question, and inquire whether "it's the same as what it used to be"...they must be "wrong" in their views.

I understand that this is a sore spot for a lot of people...but, IMO, there are a lot better ways of handling it than to tell people to "grow up" after making fun of them. Woo hoo! What a way to get people "on your side".

Now I know why they were all white and middle class.

These topics seems so silly. An independently organized gay day at a Disney theme park is no different than if a school or group of seniors decided to decend on the park on a given day. As long as people follow the park's code of conduct then what's the big deal?

I know that this is veering way off topic, but I really wonder what people are so uncomfortable about. I know a wide range of gay people from people who dress in leather to working professional couples with nice homes and adopted kids. The so called gay "lifestyle" is simply a myth as far as I can see. Seems to methat gays are just as diverse as us straight folks.

And, who am I to judge? They are not "gay bashers" by any means...but they also don't want an "in your face" sort of thing. I have to respect that.

Heck, I go to gay bars with my male homosexual friends...I have seen relationships that run the gamut...but I am, I suppose, one who doesn't appreciate the "in your face" mentality...and can understand that there are others that just don't appreciate it either.

The bands were pretty much Heavy Metal Christian. It generally wasn't a fun evening to work.

When I was on the Mine Ride during Odyssey Night I never had a better time working there. Everyone was polite, fun and respectful.

After the party, all the shops had their merchandise left neatly, not thrown around. Theft was a minimum.

Of course, when I took my first train through the mine and got to the Calico Glory Hole, I about jumped out of my skin when the roars and howls went up in unison from the fifty onboard guests.

OK, I didn't understand it at first.

But we had the best time, most fun and got to be slightly Un-PC and a little bit naughty to the delight of the guests.

And every train load got the closing sentiment of: "And thanks for coming to Knott's Fairy Farm." A true delight to all of the guests.

P.S. = I wonder how "some" people react to the Target employees all wearing Red Shirts. They probobly head over to Walmart instead. :)

And Inspector 57, I'll email you the sayings on T-Shirts that I saw and I'd love to hear your opinion on them. Seeing one or two of them, I wouldn't have batted an eye. It was seeing them over and over that put me off a bit.

    1. Being Gay is a CHOICE, and an evil one at that.

Why is Christianity and other religions mainstream and being gay not been historically? Because being Christian or at least having religion in your life is right and being gay is wrong, and you can not have both with out being a hypocrite.

Now, is this what everyone wants to hear? Of course not, we have been taught to tolerate everything in this country and not stand up for what is right and decent and when we do we are made out to be villians. Well, I am taking a stand here and now, family is:
Mom (Female) + Dad (Male) This can not vary, this is the way it was from the begining and is the way it is meant to be and those that don't like it can just go fly a kite.

This statement is so ridiculous it's almost funny. If you knew the history of the Christian church and how it has dominated written culture to the point of exclusion of all other points of view and subjugation of all other cultures, then you'd understand that not only has homosexuality been a part of every society in the world, but that in many societies it's a given and part of the coming of age rituals. It was de riguer in Greek society for men to have wives for keeping the house and other men for sexual companionship. My point is, the whole "this is how it's supposed to be because the Church says so" argument falls short in almost every case - including this one.

And how is it any of your business whatsoever if someone else is gay? Your entire post is so unbelievably ignorant of the facts it makes me physically sick.
