By denying gays and lesbians the ability to marry, you are DENYING them legal rights that are afforded to heterosexual persons. Plain and simple. Prop 8, the Protection of Marriage Act, etc are all unconstitutional because of that simple fact.

That's why, despite the silly arguments, I believe the equality issue for gays is unrelated in the extreme to the argument for polygamy.
