That's OK though. I liked seeing Bush acting a little more humble and setting a more realistic agenda. No more of that "I've got political capital now and I intend to spend it!"

The events of the past year have forced him to step down off his pedestal. I think it's done him a lot of good.

Given everything I've just said, I thought it was a good speech. I was actually able to listen to the guy for over an hour and that doesn't happen very often.

I NEED some of your honest humility.
I DO think of you staightening me out with that rocking chair joke. I just laugh in the middle of a pressure cooked work day. I guess that is exactly the reason why, even with all the enmity from just a certain "few" people this is a happy place.
    When's the trip?

    Zero.

It's getting boring at this point because the dems are so lame, so worthless, and so angry that they are looking like total idiots to the nation.

Who are they going to run in 2008 that can beat a Rudy or a Gearge Allen or even a McCain??

    Nobody.

When the dems CHEER that they blocked social security reform, you know they are beyond worthless.

No ideas from these people....it's amazing.

Bashing Bush didn't work last last election so I don't get how the libs think they are going to win by pushing terrorists rights, raising taxes, and killing babies in the 9th month of pregnancy.

It's almost getting boring because the left is so far out of the ball game.

If they're doing that, I'm sure not hearing it.

And how about addressing some of the points in the State of the Union?

Were you proud of your President?

Or is that like asking the Disney Fanatic if he's proud of Walt Disney?

Bush's weakness is his domestic policy. That won't change with the remainder of his term. Perhaps the only difference he makes in domestic policy is getting Roberts and Alito onto the Supreme Court.

His foreign policy is much better. It was strange to see the Supreme Court Justices in the front row when he is justifying his NSA wiretapping. I wonder if the issue will reach the Supreme Court.

    Overall, I give the speech a B+.

By what measure? We are feared and reviled by most of the civilized world. Contrast that with the complete support we had immediately after 9/11.

Four of them anyway - including his two appointees. The rest of them took a pass.

Russia and China have agreed to turn in Iran to the UN Security Council.

It is a slow progress since the Iraq invasion, but minds are being changed.

If you're trying to make the case against Bush, he is really turning things around. Don't ignore real progress.

Their minds are changing alright, against the US and our policies.

The terrorists are on the fast track to success. Lebanon has freely elected a terrorist government with Hesbollah (sic). Palistine has freely elected a terrorist government with Hamas. Iraq has freely elected a secular, fundementalist Islamic government that is more inline with Iran than with any other Iraqi faction.

Good job. By what measure are we winning this war?

We all know that won't happen anytime soon. We've opened 14 military bases there. We're there to stay.

<<If we have an attack on US soil, they've won?>>

    Let's hope that never happens.

    <<If iraq and iran align, that's democracy?>>

I don't know if it's democracy, but on the face of it, it sure doesn't sound good.
