They've reported that he gave Nixon inside information on Watergate, among other things. Nixon's alsoon record somewhere apparently as calling Thompson "stupid". That aside, while Thompson certainly has the presence many of the candidates lack, he likely will wind up too conservative in his appeal to voters. Moreover, he's still one of Bush's outspoken supporters, the latest being the Libby debacle, and this country does NOT want any more of Bush.
