You've interpreted my comment narrowly, but I meant it broadly, not just dealing with situations involving parental injury to a child.

So, why would you buy a toy gun that looks so authentic and let your 3 year old play with that for days on end? Then, leave a real, loaded gun on a table that she could reach. This was a recipe for disaster...

Tens of millions? Really? Tens of thousands I get, but do we really have tens of MILLIONS of Americans who keep guns in the home?

    My sentiments EXACTLY!

Maybe not handguns, but guns in general in the home, yes, it's easily tens of millions.

(For those who don't know, I've been shot - .38 to the back when I was 13. Because of that, I didn't touch a gun until I was 35. And yeah, I LOVE shooting at targets now (a Kimber .45 is my favorite gun to shoot so far), but it makes me nervous as hell that my brother the cop has two guns in the house, even though he's ALL about gun safety, and anytime we're in a car together, I know he has a tiny little concealed .38 on him. *shudder*)

Yes, I realize that. I also realize that you are missing my point entirely. I simply answered X's question about the thread topic. I'm not acting like anything. I simply stayed on topic. Not every post has to be 20 paragraphs long.
