I know there are lots of older books out there that are probably considered more "must read" books. I include the Koenig and Yee books because I think they are some of the best examples of the unofficial yet nearly expert publications.

So they're out. Many things not out in the open (i.e., possibly hidden) are not actually 'secret'. So I guess it's tough. All my favorite trivia is either historical or obscure, but I don't have a "Top 5" list, and I can't determine if anything individually qualifies as a 'hidden secret.' I know you want us to participate, but I do think this one is just too murky to have garnered the interest. So I'll give you 5 useless Disneyland facts that many people (but not all) don't know. Aw, heck, since you've been waiting, I'll throw in a 6th. 1. Pre-2000 Tomorrowland Autopia "full capacity" was 33 cars running on each side (66 cars total). Figures were identical for Fantasyland Autopia. 2. Pre-2000 Fantasyland Autopia Guest loading lane was actually longer than the Tomorrowland Autopia Guest loading lane. In Tomorrowland, it was a stretch to get 12 cars on one side and 13 on the other, but in Fantasyland, one side could take 14 at once, if I remember correctly. 3. The Mark V Monorail has 133 "seats" (divisions in the upholstery--really it has bench seating). CM's that know usually say "132". Remind them to count the captain's seat. 4. When I worked at Carnation Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant in summer 1994, we began the day by brewing 15 gallons of coffee and picking up 28 gallons of soup from the Main Street Main Kitchen. 5. Every day, Carnation featured either chicken OR turkey + noodle OR rice soup (one of the four combinations). The second daily soup was on a rotation list of 35, as I recall, and so featured a different soup each day of any given month. My favorite was the German Potato. Mmmmmmmm. 6. During Blast to the Past, a park-wide theme party in about 1989 or so (I could be off by several years), some rides were slightly altered to the theme. The Submarine Voyage had a re-written script that included several oldies hits such as "Help Me Rhonda", and on the People Mover, as the train passed through Space Mountain, oldies music played.

Carnation's Fantasia ice cream is no longer sold at the park. It was a Neopolitan/spumoni-style mix of banana, pistachio and cherry flavors. 5. An early concept for The Haunted Manion included a restaurant, a la Blue Bayou located in Pirates.
