Since when do all students go to the same dentist? And what kind of dentist gives out nitrous oxide on demand? And would the red-headed school counselor (I've forgotten her name) really be okay with him drugging her students? STUPID. Lea looks about 30 years old now. She looks way too thin to me and her character has lost it's vulnerability. Now she's just irritating. This show is rapidly jumping the shark. I can barely stand watching it. Awful. I'm so bummed. (I still adore Sue and love the addition of Bieste.)

A lot of my friends and I go to the same dentist... you find a good one, you tell others about it. And, note that most of the students who went were girls. Of COURSE girls are going to go to see a doctor who looks like John Stamos! And as for giving out nitrous oxide on demand, dentists here in the Austin area do it! Dr. Mysse and then Longhorn Dental - both have signs that say to ask if you want it.

They realised how talented she was and then wrote the full time role for her in the show!

I am in awe of the writers that they didn't have Kurt make some desperate, last-chance conversion from his atheism, yet they showed how truly sincere and loving people who are religious can be. Other reactions: Finn should have been there more for Kurt. Lea Whatzername (Rachel) out-Barbras Barbra. I would love to hear Streisand's comments on this young singer who obviously has patterned herself after her. The use/transformation of "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" was brilliant. A minor point... The song "Losing My Religion" isn't really about losing religion. The title phrase is a southern US expression that refers to, ummmm... becoming exasperated. The writers didn't just play with our emotions in this episode; they were flat-out manipulative. But they did it so skillfully that I was forgiving them even as I was wiping away tears.

The characters could still use some work, but the situations in the last episode were so good that it didn't really matter. I Wanna Hold Your Hand reminded me of the version in Across the Universe, where it's the same song, but completely different meaning. I really appreciate when they can work with existing songs and work them into a story to do something more powerful. I was also impressed with how they handled the 'heavy' issues related with religion. It presented several very strong viewpoints, but none of them ever really crossed the line. It left a great message, but still made you want to see and know more about each of the characters. I'm also glad that the piano guy finally made a comeback!

Again, there were a ton of songs, but they were all set as performances, and very few of them were actually used to progress any sort of story or emotional arc. Yah, a couple of them worked to add to the story (Sam and Quinn, Rachel and Finn's first song-kind of), but most just fell flat. The songs were entertaining and well performed, but they were clearly performances that didn't add anything to the show, other than an extra musical number. What made so many of the songs from the first season so memorable was that in addition to being well performed, they also added to the story and presented the song in a new way. I Wanna Hold Your Hand did a great job of that last week, and Imagine (with the deaf school) is a good example from last season. I know they can do it, so it's really disappointing when it doesn't happen, especially in an episode with as many songs as this one. I know what they were trying to do with Kurt's song, but it just didn't really express it very well. I'm not familiar with the music from Victor/Victoria, but I would think there had to be something else that at least mentioned being two people at once. Rachel and Finn's 'offensive' song wasn't really offensive at all, IMO. I personally thought that the Grilled Cheesus story line was far more offensive, yet there was no reaction to that. The audience reactions to their song were so over the top that it just didn't make sense, especially with the other things going on in the episode. Am I the only one who gets incredibly uncomfortable every time Brittany is in a bedroom? And what happened to the 12th member of the Glee Club? They had enough, and then swapping Sam for Puck, they should still have 12 (the number needed for Nationals), but Kurt had to sing alone, and nobody else was in the episode. I can't think of another character who it would be, so I'm just kind of confused. I'm glad to see that the piano guy is back again! And I think I might have known the guitar player in the background of Santana and Mercedes' song...

It really helped highlight the differences in the style of the two seasons to me. Yes, there are still some conflicts this season, but there are no big overarching conflicts like the baby/no baby/Emma situations. Each episode seems to be a stand-alone, so there's really very little reason to watch a specific one. The plot the episode was just rediculous enough that it worked, without losing all sense of reality. The characters' relationships developed in realistic ways, even if they were in unrealistic situations. With the newer episodes, none of it seems terribly realistic. And I'm not particularly looking forward to the Rocky Horror episode next week. I'm sure it will be well executed, but like the Madonna, Britney Spears, and Lady Gaga episodes, I'm sure that the music will take the focus of the episode's 'plot' and replace any sort of character development.
