I'm sorry you're feeling so cynical, FerretAfros, and I hope you're wrong.

I don't personally see the qualitative change that you perceive between Season 1 and Season 2.

In my mind, The Rocky Horror Picture Show was all about character development. I love that movie. (And it makes me sad that so many die-hard "fans" make it all about the RHPS "experience" at the expense of the film itself.) I'm cautiously optomistic that "Glee" will use the themes of RHPS to develop its characters.

Still....not my favorite glee episode. I thought the kids were out of character through too much of it. If that had been the first episode I had ever seen, I'm not sure I would continue watching.

I missed Coach Biest. I was sure she would be in there.

It seemed like they were able to take a theme that ran the course of the episode, but didn't seem forced like the Madonna, Britney, and Gaga shows. I liked how the progress in the show was done as a series of rehearsals, but they still managed to get the memorable songs in.

I also thought it was really funny how Finn said that he had no idea what was going on in the story, since that was my reaction when I saw Rocky Horror. I kept watching because I knew about the reputation, so I figured it would get better and eventually make sense, but it just didn't. Somehow the episode came out better than the movie. As one of my friends pointed out, Glee and Rocky Horror were made to go together because of the out of place songs, bad acting, and leap-of-faith writing. : )

I thought that Mercedes as Frankenfurter was a great way to handle it. It's been a while since she's had a good song, and she pulled off that costume way better than any guy every could. I missed the Meatloaf and Barry Bostwick moments, but I saw their names in the credits at the beginning so I should have been looking harder.

The one thing that really bugged me was how long it took for them to cancel the performance. I would be shocked if there was any high school out there that would even halfway consider that show. Even the mildly-sanitized bits they included seemed like they would be cut immedietly if they were in any other show. Also, musicals are almost always in the spring, so it was a little weird that they did it in the fall (and since when are musicals exclusively Glee Club members and random adults? What about the rest of the school), but I guess it was to tie in with Halloween. And it was inappropriate for Sam to be half naked on stage, but it's okay for Will to do it while a student gropes him while she sings the "Touch Me" song? Really?

I loved it. And the Emma/Will song prompted me to get Rocky Horror from Netflix! LOL

I thought it was well done, and as someone who loved Rocky Horror in high school (Time Warp was a staple in band!) it kept to the spirit.

I did catch Meatloaf and Barry Bostwick and that was very clever how they were incorporated into the show.

This show just gets better and better!

Wow... so you've never seen the film? Go watch it at your local midnight showing. It's fun! :) (And, for the record, he played Brad, the "straight" male lead - i.e., the square.)

Now, regarding Barry & Meat Loaf's scene... did nobody pay attention, or am I just more attuned to seeing these guys since I used to be a RHPS cast member down in San Antonio (about 20 years ago - EGADS!)? I get that Barry could be semi-unrecognizable with that shock of white hair, but Meat Loaf looks the same, albeit older.

Anyhow, great episode - and I concur that Emma's song was the best. And check out the abs on Will - NICE!

As far as the possible eating disorder for Sam, that would be quite interesting to see them deal with. I hope they do it.

I can think of very little that would be more horrifying to me than to see RHPS with a group of fans who've seen it 75 times each! No thanks!!!

The audience participation thing is a fun, over-the-top communal experience that I can enjoy every once in a while. But I much prefer to view the movie alone in the darkness of my own living room. Unlike many fans, apparently, for me the film stands up quite nicely on its own merits. I like to hear it. I like to let it soak over me and to feel the emotional reactions it causes. I like to get absorbed in its touching stories of real characters and not regard those characters as cartoon figures.

Especially when Frank is played by the late, great Joe York.

The confrontation between the 3 of them in the stairwell was...unfortunate, but they're teenagers, I don't expect them to know how to handle difficult situations like that. Obviously Kurt felt like he needed help doing it.

Oh, and the Will & coach Biest was...also surprising!

I really liked Kurt's new love interest Blaine. I hope they expand that storyline.

My favourite bit of the show was the girls singing a Bon Jovi mash! Brilliant!!!

Wow, I must be super in tune or something, because I was expecting something like that from the get-go this episode as soon as they started focusing on that guy gay-bashing Kurt.

Hopefully they will have some more story lines that last longer than a single episode again. And what ever happened to using a song as something other than a performance? It seems like it is just a show with random musical numbers thrown in that really don't add anything to the plot at all...

And is a show choir really competing against an a capella group? That's like a symphony competing againts a chamber orchestra; yah, they're kind of similar in instrumentation, but they're completely different animals in execution.
