I know. It's almost shocking when you see it in person. They still have the old Tomorrowland Star Jets too, complete with the big USA lettering on the side:

Tokyo Disneyland is a nice park, but the whole park feels like its stuck in a 1970s time warp.

Dumbo flips in Tokyo? That would make me want to ride it for the first time in decades!

Sounds like the perfect park for dean.

Nah, they never had any sort of PeopleMover-type attraction (unless you count their railroad, which does a lap around Westernland and part of Adventureland and only has one station)

Is riding the train followed by Lincoln really the best use of my time? Wouldn't I be better of dashing to something that gets really long lines first? I may only have a few days...!!!

Absolutely. Unless, that is, you plan to visit during a slow period like right after Labor Day, which I would recommend for a first trip. I do think that any Disney Park fan who has never been to Disneyland should at least visit the Lincoln pre-show at some point during their visit.

It's nice to get sentimental about the park, but it really isn't the best way to actually get to experience it, since a Grand Circle and Lincoln would take at least an hour. There's never a wait for Lincoln (except until the next show), and the train rarely has one. Both of those attractions are best done in the middle of the afternoon, when everybody else is deeper into the park and the lines are getting long and hot.

If you were at DLR for a week, then maybe it's a good way to start your visit, but if you only have a couple days I would definitely start off by grabbing some FPs and getting in line for something that will have a longer line later.

But with limited time, you should get there early and do one of the more "standard" how-can-I-see-everything-efficiently strategies. Also, remember that not everything that gets long lines (like Peter Pan, TSMM, and Luigi's) has fastpass.

Once I was visiting my aunt's church and ended up sitting in a pew with about 8 little kids. The church had wooden floors and right during prayer service one of the kids spilled an entire bag of skittles. Naturally the explosive sound of hard candies hitting the floor while reverent prayers were being given from the pulpit sent the kids into a fit of hysterics. I did my best to contain myself but it wasn't easy!
