And you know what, if I THINK I am playing better, then I AM playing better.

Like I said I was as big a skeptic as anyone, but neither my G.P. nor my sports ortho can explain why my right elbow doesn't swell anymore -- it had been a problem for almost 5 years

so I can't explan it either, but since the result is what I wanted, I don't care...

Also, There is a world of difference between scientific study and clinical study. Clinical studies will basically prove or disprove whatever you want them to. A study using true scientific method is done with no goal in mind, only to observe objectively.

I'll give you another example. I personally believe (as does the American Medical Association and the New England Journal of Medicine) that chiropractic is quackery. I don't go to them. HOWEVER, there are people who swear by them and I would never say to that person, "Don't go, it's a rip off," if it is helping that person. More importantly I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from doing anything that they simply THINK may be helping them.

I am a big, "don't knock it 'till you try it kind of person," but I am still very much a skeptic...for my own private opinions of things. Still having said that, I try not to step on other peoples' toes so that I don't have to pull my own foot out of my mouth later.

    Anyhoo...

I lost my sand wedge somewhere and so I have to go look for that too unless someone brought it in, which I doubt. I am sure it's still laying.

My wrist is almost completely well and VBDAD if you read this, THANK YOU for the TIP ABOUT GRIP, it did the trick! No more pain whatsoever!

But I still can't help but feel that I am losing some power. I am going to get my CP to check this out with me. I think I can't get my mind around having two different muscle groups, work at two differnt strengths...if that makes any sense...you know, grip hard while swinging hard.

By the way my oldest son (11) and I went out this AM and played 6 holes before he got too hot and too tired to finish. After 6 I was only 5 over!!! That is better than my GOAL !!! I was SMOKIN'!!! Oh and by the way...that was a totally HONEST 5 over Par too. Strict Rules!

One more thing as I am soooo long winded on this thread...sorry...

After reading Chicken Soup for the Golfer's Soul (a great book) I now completely understand why you are the way you are about the RULES. I will let that suffice to say what it does. Well that and this: Golf is about so much MORE than just the act to playing golf. I think you "get that."

Actually there were other reasons too but it seems I already stated those. ;)

glad it helped ...my guess on the power is now that you are gripping looser ( softer) you have likey slowed up your swing too -- that grip hard - swing hard syndrome.

    it should correct itself

in the world today we work so hard to teach kids how to WIN at all costs, I think we forget to explain the games as a whole...I learned the traditions and respect for golf early - or else my uncle would neverhave taken me again - I also caddied for a year....I have never lost those values or respect for the game....it is so much more than playing...you are correct.

To go back a bit, I remembered last night that there is a Little Red Video of Penick's that's pretty good. Crenshaw and Kite are in it. Amazon has used videotape copies. <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/630310357X" target="_blank">http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi
