To which I answer, "I have no idea. I need some proof." So I decided to try out balls on my own. I have to admit, I have tried most of the cheaper to mid range priced balls (with the exception of the Nike One Blacks...one of the highest priced balls.) My findings so far (I have not tried any Titleist balls yet) are on the Callway HOT HX for a great all around ball. It's awesome off the tee, it's a soft feel for putting, however...I do have to admit that it doesn't give you a lot of spin. The Callaway Tour ball is twice as expensive and does all that its cheaper cousin does, but in addition will give the good spin for high shots onto the green. I am gong to get some Titleist balls, specifically the Pro V1's not ONLY because you are an accomplished golfer vbdad, and reccomend them, but I see MANY MANY a really good golfer playing them. So, there has to be something to it. Also, I don't see as much advertising from Titleist yet you can buy them anywhere...so evidently the product speaks for itself! It must be great, is certainly perceived as one of the best.

The Pro V1 may not be thebest ball for everyon though - made for high swing speeds, but titleist makes many others - -- to me they make the best combination of distance and control and have since I started playing

I will give you he is a very good 'money' putter. Best putter on the tour today - Mickelson without question and one of the best ever...next up Brad Faxon who has finished in the top 8 11 times since 1990 -- now that's consistency. Tiger spots Mickelsen over 1.5 shots per round for their difference in putting..... All time best putter - Ben Hogan --

My goal is to shoot nothing over 8 on any hole and to have a max of two 8's the entire round. If I can do that, I will be super duper happy. I have been working on putting, in hopes that it will improve my overall score by at least 4 strokes.

I will be taking no Mulligans and counting all penalties as usual...for myself anyway.
