Save your money and eat outside the park. Unless it's a special dinner at Blue Bayou or something.

They purposely put loads of sodium in their food to make you very thirsty. It's all a gimmick.

Brian, I completely disagree. There is some very tasty food inside the borders of both DL and DCA. Yeah, the price is higher than it would be outside, but it's always been worth it for me to pay up and eat in a place I'm very happy to be.

If indeed the food was that low in quality, people wouldn't be saying how they love this and that place. As for the prices, while some things are not good values, others are. Witness how many people enjoy the chicken at the Plaza Inn, and say it's enough for two people. $14.00 to feed two isn't a high price in my book.

Time is money too. Does it make sense to leave the park for two hours to eat at Mimis just to save a few dollars? Maybe it does for a local with an AP, but for the out-of-town visitor, probably not.

trekkeruss, you explained it perfectly in response to the food quailty and price. I feel the exact same way. That is why I posted the question:) I knew other LPer's had found food that they really like.

As far as leaving the park. We do usually leave when we are finished at the park and eat dinner at places like MiMi's, but during the day we do not like to leave. I'm so glad that all of you took time to share your favorite foods in the park. I am especially glad to find out that the farmers market has our fav corn dogs. We will be in the parks for 4 days and we just wouldn't want to miss out on having a corn dog at least once.

    Thanks again everyone!!!!:)

It depends. If the park hours are extended. We often take a break, go back to our hotel to rest and then grab a bite on the way back to the parks.

That doesn't work for me because I'm almost never staying in a hotel. As a day visitor, leaving the parks is at most going to DtD or White Water Snacks. I wouldn't even consider eating at the DLH or PPH because they are too far away also.

I am a local AP , I do not leave the park just to save a few bucks and go eat at a place like mimi’s,not that anything is wrong with that place-but why leave when your already there? Why not make the experience all that you can and eat in the park, as some of you know—the prices and the food are NOT that bad…everyone agrees hands down the chicken meal the plaza is the bomb!!

I may have to reads again, but I don’t ever remember reading that taste pilots will be closed..hmmm

    >>What about the chimichunga's in the park, how are they?<<

Well it depends, witch place are your referring too…...rancho del zocalo at DL or Cocina Cucamonga Mexican grill at DCA….

Have you had a chimichanga in the parks?
    Thanks:)

I've never had a turkey leg at DL. But if they're anything like the ones they have in the MK in WDW, they're by no means a snack - they're HUGE, and do a great job at filling you up. Just watch out for the grease - them things are juicy!!
