Say hi to all for me. My son started UOP yesterday. I just got home from Seattle late last night so I have not been able to talk to him about it yet.
Originally Posted By Rivkah86 I got the job!!!!! I went in for the interview today at 4. I was a few minutes early, so I waited in the store. There were about 10 people there for interviews (group interviews) and they took in four at a time. I was one of the first four. We went into the back break room and sat down with the store manager and another CM. They asked us a bunch of Q's, mostly having to do with your experiences, personality, etc. and one particular Q. was "what character would you be, based on who you are, not which character you like best?" I said I was most like Lady for her reserved and trusting nature. After the four of us gave our answers, one CM said how it was great that two characters that had been mentioned in this interview had never before been mentioned. I was glad to know one of those two was mine I told them of the best customer service experiences I've had at Disneyland, and how it was my dream to work as a writer for the animation department. I was very curious as to why all the other interviewees were so underdressed for the occasion. The majority of them were dressed in jeans and sweatshirts. As I was getting ready for the interview, I kept thinking of what I've read in the past about the strict rules for Disney Cast Members in terms of their dress, the jewlry they wear, the amount of makeup, radical hair styles, etc. So I decided wear a sleek black skirt, blue sweater top, a black blazer, and a pair of really cute vintage 50's heals. I think that was a huge factor in helping me to get the job! also, I am a shy, reserved person by nature, so it was with great effort that I tried to be the first to answer the questions they asked (though making sure to not come off as overzealous or false). I kept eye contact, smiled brightly, and kept a confident yet approachable air about me. As we were departing, they mentioned how they weren't planning to call anyone back until next Tuesday, as they had to go over their decisions about who to hire. Well, after about two and a half hours, after I had gotten home, I got a call from the store manager. She said, "We'd like to hire you. Can you come in tomorrow to sign papers?" I was sooooo HAPPY!!! I was jumping around, laughing and singing. I am still smiling ear to ear So I want to thank you all for rooting for me. It has meant so much to have all of your support. THANK YOU!!!
