Hmmm - which "geniuses" do you mean? The only poster ever alluded is K2M, but somehow I don't think that's who you're referring to. Not that K2M isn't every bit as genius-y as, say beau or douglas.

My answer is some people are just jealous which is what my OWN mother said last night about my siblings.

Or trying to impress others so they'll realize how much your life has changed for you. Sure, you mention your past failures and your shortcomings now and then. However, I guess for me it comes across as bragging about what you do have and poking fun at yourself for your shortcomings. One doesn't "brag" about lack of computer knowledge. The problem is that before anyone around here really got to know you we heared as nauseum about your huge house on the cape, your millions tied up in real estate, etc. That's not info we need, or want. No one else on here talks about their salary, or the size of their house, or the value of their real estate holdings, etc. It sets you apart by talking about them and it sends the message that large houses, money and a huge net worth are imminently important. To sum it up, "they're just jealous" is a junior high school response to bragging and a superiority complex. I, and many others on this board, have plenty of material goods. But you don't hear about them because it's tacky to brag. It's a plain and simple lack of class to talk about one's net worth and material things with complete strangers. You manage to work it into almost every conversation and it gets old. We get it. You used to have nothing, now you live on the Cape and have a huge house, real estate, a golf course outside your back door, etc.

The reason no one throws your 28 years of "suffering and humiliation of being a loser" in your face is because it would be rude to do that. People mention your bragging about your life now because it's tacky. No one begrudges you your success. But I know lots of people with lots of money and not a one of them would talk about it as openly as you do - particularly with complete strangers on the internet.

okay--It's been a tough week but now it's back to respect time.
I just got back from the kid's winter carnival at school. I went with just Rachel as Diane stayed home with Brad who might have a broken finger caused at school today.
We acutally won a craft basket which we just surprised Diane with. We woke her up to show her. She was excited as crafts are her thing.
Then I came in for a quick little LP hit before bed and I saw the post by stph that gad and mele? didn't understand the magnitude of.
There really are just a few angry posters here with NO respect for others and I vented but I'll try yet again to shut up when people say jealous things.

Gee, Jim, I would count myself amongst one of those more 'right wing' personalities, and I know we disagree about some policy matters, but I have never mocked you, or called you names. I always enjoy reading your posts, even the ones I disagree with. There's lots of people that I don't always agree with, but I would never ostracize them, or isolate myself, because of that.
