Even JTTCOE going in that space sounded better. I like that Indy is unique to Disneyland in terms of the USA. It being similar to CTX doesn't bother me because a lot of attractions at WDW share dark-ride similiarities.

As its been said in almost every internet column or discussion board, Disney quickly realized that MGM would need to be a full day park once guests started coming in. Remember, upon opening Hollywood Blvd, Echo Lake, and the studio/animation courtyard were the ONLY public walking areas. No Sunset Blvd. No pathway down the commissary & Sci Fi. No Star Tours, No NY area to walk in, No Muppets, and certainly no backstage areas. It was a VERY contained park. Basically just what is now Hollywood Blvd. and Echo Lake. That is why it is a mess today. They built it too close to World Drive even though many felt it was a horrible site. They had no long-range expansion plan other than going over to where sunset blvd. is today. Space isn't really a premium outside of the World Drive issue, because there is plenty of space inside the park that needs a serious rework. Avenues of the World or whatever they call it isn't cutting it. But the space is there, the new stunt show is an example of that. (Although I think the space could have gone to better use) Midway Mania at least will utilize underutilized soundstage. If you ask me, they need to put something massive at the Indy Stunt show to shore up that side of the park and then place another massive addition in the back of the park. MGM needs stuff more than any other park now. And that says a lot if one takes a critical look at Future World, Animal Kingdom, and even Magic Kingdom to an extent.
