I have to say you're the first person I've ever known to say that about PM at DLP.

I loved it. Just like HM in the USA parks.

I agree 100% with your assessment of Pirates! Showstoppingly terrific!

Yep. When DLP opened all of its attractions were cutting edge versions of the DL originals - except for Phantom Manor. Same old same old. Thus, the dissapointment.

This answers the original question perfectly.

Operations is concerned about removing to many attractions at one time. The goal is to continue increasing DCA's attendance like it has been doing since it opened.

Mullholland Madness although unliked by many in the Disney community as well as WDI is actually quite popular with guests. It is a simple mouse coaster that can be enjoyed by most.

The best solution at th emoment was to theme it as much as possible but still allow for future reasoning for removal.

The attraction will be the one structure that will be out of place with the rest of the pier but its theming is actually clever.

The area will also be heavily landscaped to help the area.

Eventually as other parts of the park are redressed and rethemed the Mullholland attraction will also be one of several attraction plots that can be re-used with something more on the level to the rest of the pier.

At the end of the day its not like we have to ride it, sorta like the other 60% of the attractions I never bothered with ;).

Hey dude, sorry I just caught this. After posts get to a certain number since I last wrote, I sometimes don't 'catch up' to the rest since its sooo many sometimes lol. But, I usually go back when I have time like now :).

To answer your question and not to get TOO personal here, yes, I left the boards maybe two times between last year and this year for a few months at a time. I fell into a depression over not going back to school, major death in the family, finances and a REALLY quick relationship problem with a girl that deterioated FAST, all of it happening within a month of each other, so by then talking about Disney or much of anything was faaar from my mind lol.

Now sporadically a lot of travelling and work inbetween this year kept me away too, but before it was just a lack of interest for the above reasons stated. I'm okay now, no more suicidal thoughts ;D.

Well, the rethemeing of Mulholland Madness doesn’t do anything for the ride (except add a cartoon character) and actually makes it’s themeing out of place. The best solution at the moment would be to just leave it alone until whatever phase they are going to replace it. Why waste the money on something that isn’t going to improve it in any way.

Their five-year enhancement of the park is leaving other rides unchanged for periods of time, why they would bother with that one, especially since it’s tucked back in the corner where it’s shortcomings aren’t that obvious. Better to use the money on other more critical issues than to waste it on changing to a questionable theme on a ride that will probably be removed some time in the near future.

Wow, I just got am IM that said to include: Must feature Pixar characters. Am I being watched? I thought the NSA ties were broken when Eisner left. Anyway.
The winner gets 2 WK/YR PTO and moves up to supervisor of their department. Wait another IM: OK winner gets: 1 WK/YR PTO and a $100 gift card to the World Of Disney store.

I made up all that NSA stuff, and It DOESN'T have to have Pixar characters.

Imagine this small hangar in sandwiched between trees and gardens compared to the very visible tacky road signs and tracks.

I'm sorry, but that visual had no appeal to me. I wish it did, but it didn't. Still seems horribly out of place, IMO. :(

Well, outside of the little hanger, the rest of the ride will still be the very visible tacky panels that the current “map†is on, just rethemed, and the tracks. Outside of different graphics and colors, the ride will still be essentially the same. So, if Mulholland Madness is unpleasant to look at now, the Goofy overlay probably won’t do much to change that.

Apparently, there those that just like the ride itself in spite of any “themeing†Disney has stuck on it. I doubt that they will care one way or another if it was left alone. So, they should just put that money to better use.

As bean mentioned, there is solid rationale for keeping MM in place for the time being. While we all may hate it, at least it will be less visible.
