I don't think DAR's a whiner at all - I just don't think he's as moderate as he implied in his post.

A restroom stall at a nightclub is one thing, but at an airport? I don't normally like to play the "think of the children!" card, but in this case I think it's appropriate: I think there is a public interest in having a public bathroom in an airport free of people carrying on sexual activities in the stalls.

From there please consummate in a private place though. Craig didn't have sex in the bathroom, right? He was looking for a hookup by using codes and I have no problem with that. Just because the codes were in a bathroom vs bar vs funeral vs Cousin Vinny's house makes no moral difference to me. But I would hope that once he found a partner that they would go get a room.

Originally Posted By barboy ///He was lookin' for it right then, right there, probably./// That sounds like a solid bet based on the layover time you bring up. But is it possible if he found a partner that he would just catch a different plane. I mean if one is a senator then he likely has access to flights much easier than the rest of us due to power, money and expense accounts. For example, if he were flying from LA to New York there would be a ton of flights available all day but if he were flying from Flint, Michigan to Tallahassee, Fl then I doubt he would want to miss his plane even for a hookup. But who knows??? Furthermore, I've heard of dirty sex but that takes the cake. Bathrooms are filthy places.

Could it be a large reason why Craig continued to use bathrooms---- maybe that's all he knew growing up and felt safer hooking up in that fashion than using this modern internet.

And one must be extremely brave and/or horny to do something like that. I mean what if some knife or scissor wielding freak/right wing fundamentalist nut job targeted a gay stall. If I were attracted to men I'd be way too paranoid to try it.

I was hit upon constantly, propositioned for every sexual act you can imagine, all to be done right then and there in the stalls, some of which didn't have doors. Often, I'd walk in and interrupt people right in the middle of well, take a guess. I did this assignment for a month, 2-3 days a week. I was 20 years old and in great shape, as I was still wrestling competitively then. I hated that work. I didn't have to do a damn thing to entice anyone, simpky walk in. If I walked into ten bathrooms, I was hit on 6-7 times. Entrapment was not an issue. After a month, word got around, and things cleared up. But every now and then to this day. Laguna Beach P.D. still has a problem with the public bathrooms.

As for Laguna Beach, I really hope that police targeted that bathroom soley because it's a public place, used by children and those who don't want to be exposed to public sex acts. It would be nice to know that it wasn't slated for cleanup and sting ops because of gay sex as opposed to heterosex; but I'm not that naive--- that was the late 70's and I wouldn't be surprised if I were to find out that the city secretly(or even more overtly)viewed gay sex as some public nuisance. SingleParkPassholder, in your estimation do you think that Laguna Beach PD would have tried to clean that spot up if there were heterosexual instead of gay hookups taking place?

Oh yeah. If memory serves, there was a lot of complaints of used condoms, etc., in the area which led to the police doing something. However, for whatever reason, you just don't hear a lot of complaints about hetero sex in public bathrooms.
