First of all I've always found the Dixie Chicks, and all of country music today to be extremely overrated. Give me the days of Cash, Waylon, Willie, those guys, that was country music.

Concerning the statements of the Dixie Chicks, I really don't have a problem with what they said. It would have been nice if they had the guts to say it in front of an American audience, but that's a small quibble.

What I do have a problem with and this goes with anyone in the entertainment industy. When you make a political statement, there's going to be a handful of people that aren't going to like what you said, no matter what. And especially given the audience that the Dixie Chicks played to, a backlash had to be expected. So entertainers can't be angry if people stop buying their records, or don't see their films or watch their tv shows.

Like I said earlier I've never been a fan of their music or the current country music scene. The genre's popularity just baffles me.

Natalie just bugs me in general, but I do love some of the Chicks' songs.

As for country music, I'm easy. I love all kinds of different artists and songs from its earliest days to the 50s and 60s, to the 70s and my childhood 80s, to Lorrie Morgan's burst into the 90s and up to today.
