In fact, I wouldn't know any of the depressing stuff I hear if it weren't for this board.

There's nothing wrong or disparaging about calling kids brats.

My grandfather, who died two years ago a month shy of 95, was calling me a 'bratty kid' when I was in late 30s ... I can't tell you how much I miss that. Or how much older I felt when he was gone.

I do regret I didn't take him to DAK ever. He loved Disney and had a seasonal pass for years, but never saw that park ... and I think it would have blown his mind since he enjoyed Disney and animals. I meant to earlier this decade, but never managed and his last two years, it likely would have been too much to walk around (and he would have wanted that, he wasn't the ECV/wheelchair type).

OK ... that's my sentimental post of the month. Enjoy it. Won't last.

I don't understand. Based on the dining section all of you on here won't shut up about how good it is(......... it never did anything for me except bore me out of my wits as I looked around the place, make me sit at the table for a very long time and then bring me a big bill ........ ) and one routinely needs many days advance reservations to dine.

If it's so damn popular why can't they make it work for lunch?>>

    Simple.

For whatever business model/reason they don't want their signature dining locations open for lunch.

In 1995 when it opened it was two meals ... and lunch lasted at least six months to a year. It was always busy then, just not dinner busy. As in you could get in without a PS.

But it looked like locals were using it as a place for business lunches and it made sense as it was hugely popular for dinner.

Good to hear and I agree, it is rotten.

I am not a breakfast eater, but went out of my way for Boatwright's.

It certainly seems like Disney is saying either eat crap at the foodcourt or go to a character breakfast/buffet.

    There should be other options.

    Just more WalMarting ...

But it's true, I will call you a bratty kid if it makes you feel better!

Neither am I. You would be surprised what compromises you can make when it comes to WDW if you have no other options available.

I've never been there when it wasn't running so I can feel your pain. I can't remember the last time we got off after a single pass on it.

I am sure that's true ... I just know my grandfather wouldn't have tolerated being pushed around. And walking, albeit with a cane, would have been too much for him once he hit 92-93 ... we really should have gotten him to DAK right after it opened. He would have been fine then.
