Wonder if the "sing off" will continue next week - obviously the producers of the Broadway show freaked out when the 2 under-talented underdogs got more votes then the others (who you know will probably go next week). The most bizarre thing about the show was the send off medley of "Sandy"/"Look at Me, I'm Sandra Dee". Pure camp.

Holy crap, that was the most bizarre thing to pop up on tv since "Small Wonder." Are they really going to do that every week? The show is extremely awkward. The judges are odd. The talent is weak. And the structure of the whole thing doesn't make a lot of sense (announce the bottom 2...wait 2 hours...sing-off????). And yet I can't look away. As a theatre dweeb I feel like I'm obligated to watch. Does anyone know how they did it on the London version as far as the judges getting the final say? I remember hearing Kathleen Marshall say a while back that she wouldn't do the show if they didn't have the final say, so I assume they'll keep having the final say for now.

I never thought I would hear somebody on network television say say something like "you get to vote for the next star of a Broadway show". Its all so surreal. I would say that there is talent, albiet of varying degrees. >Does anyone know how they did it on the London version as far as the judges getting the final say?< I'm not sure how they did it in England, but Playbill.com ran a weekly recap if you want to search for it.

I always thought that was cheesiest, most embarrassing train wreck of a show ever put on the air---and I can take cheesy and embarrassing to a good degree! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =ukSvjqwJixw

Catty and cheesy, and perfectly embodies musical theatre. Laura's the most talented girl on the show. Austin would make a fine Sandy, but I'm not sure about him playing Danny. He seems the logical choice, given his credits, but I have a feeling the audience LOVES Max. He has no chemistry with either girl, but I think it will be Max and Laura.

So when reality busts wide open my industry, it is okay, but when it hits yours you are offended? And that's why I don't watch it!!!!! Reality TV has made a lot less work for union actors, writers, set people, etc.
