Boy, and that sure did work out well.

Well ... when did Disney make this official?

Not new news ... as this was rumored years ago. And if it's really going to happen ... great. I never cared for the "lite" theming found in Condor Flats. To do it properly they would have needed more room ... but to absorb it into "Grizzly Peek" .. I always thought was a nice idea ... when this rumor first propped up ... quite a while ago.

    >>any behind the scenes folks see any concept art for the revamped area? will it be similar to what was shown in the Imagineering book a few years back?<<

    I found this:

scroll to the right ... about 5 pictures .. with a few sandwich photos thrown in between.

It's been so long since I've been to Disneyland, I expected to see the engine of the train at the current entrance to Condor Flats.

Also, when did the spinning sign go away?

It's really happening, walls are up, construction has begun, and signage on the walls show "Grizzly Airfield" coming Summery 2015.

    From Miceage:

"Views from the Monorail show concrete getting ready to be torn out for new themed pavement and the tower with the rocket engine mister already removed and the steel tower structure disassembled and piled on the ground."

The chicken sandwhiches are pretty good. I always get one of those.

I think it lasted longer than that. I remember seeing it spinning semi-recently, which was the first time I'd seen it spinning in many years. I don't think they would have restored it, only to remove it before DCA's big grand reopening

    Wouldn't take much...

I think that open-end interpretation element is part of those rides' staying power as much as the elaborate effects and design elements. I think some of the backstories seem a bit labored and forced. After the stre-e-e-e-ching it backstory of Duffy, I expected to start seeing little backstories spring up next to various waste paper bins and drinking fountains.
