A) I completely, well 95%, disapprove of guerilla artists - I did kind of like the one who switched Barbee's voice with GI Joe's.

    B) This guy's message and medium just make no sense. A statue of a child laborer in It's A Small World would have had a point. A "No means No" sign being held by one of the wenchs for sale in POTC. But a Gitmo prisoner on Big Thunder. What "artistic vision" could possibly lead to that one?

Illegal, yes. Art, maybe to someone. Dumb, seems to me.

And don't get me wrong, I would be absolutely against either of the scenarios mentioned above. Disneyland is private property, a place for escape, and a place for children.

I was going to say something like this. Yeah, people are talking about these things, but if you notice nobody is really talking about the issue these people are trying to bring up. Are we really discussing the "Gitmo" or "Governator" issues? No, we're talking about the acts of the protestors...seems to me they didn't really get their points across.

When I'm at Disneyland this November, my plan is, while standing on the deck of the Columbia Sailing Ship, to drop my pants and moon the guests in New Orleans Square as we sail by.

I'm doing it to remind people that we shouldn't be dependent on foreign oil.

I hope that while slightly unconventional, that my protest will be clear.

There is really no security on that side and as slow as it has been in the park it would be real easy to hop over a rail there and put it up. As for his freedom of speach yes you have that right but they had to shut the ride down to remove it then he affected everyone else's rights then. I am sorry just by saying it is art dose not make it ok. If I wanted to burn a car at the entrance to the DL parking garge to protest the high gas prices I would get arrested. Also is this guy even a citizen of the United States? I heard about the Hilton CD thing and didn't that happen in the U.K.?

It is like how schools have the right to go through kids' stuff, without their permission. Part of being in Disneyland is giving up the right to do some stupid stuff, and I hope this guy gets what he has coming to him.

    That's the idea.

It's like that group of 100 people who dressed up like BestBuy employees, infiltrated the store, and just stood in the aisles.

    Civil Disobedience 101.

    Important distinction there.

To take an example from my own work life, the first time I noticed that somebody had gone through a bookstore where I worked and rearranged the books in a way that "made a statement", I found it amusing and actually kind of cool. The second time, not so much. The umpteen-dozenth time, not at all.

One difference between "guerrilla art" and simple vandalism is the originality and creativity displayed. I think Banksy showed enough creativity to be applauded.

And if he's a true guerrilla artist, he'll be willing to do the time to pay for his crime, since his trial will just generate more publicity for his cause.

Where's the creativity in placing a Camp X-Ray detainee in an old west mine train setting? The guy is a hack and a jerk and should be barred from ever entering a Disney property ever again.

His website is http://www.banksy.co.uk/ (warning-while I haven't really been all around his site, the person that gave me the info said that it is 18 and over content in a lot of it)

They're under fire (pardon the pun) right now for being trigger-happy.

It's getting a bit scary, indeed... I mentioned a hypothetical situation to Mr. Alice as we watched the story on the news - suppose you're a deaf homeowner who's locked out of the house. You're breaking in with a hammer and WHOOPS, that sucker looks like a gun, so BOOM! Far-fetched maybe, but these days it wouldn't surprise me to see it happen.
