Fortunately, the situation was resolved without violence. For this particular incident I think the presence of additional weapons might have served to escalate the violence. Every situation is different. My bottom line is that guns aren't all that useful unless the person with the weapon has been trained to use it properly and also trained in the circumstances when it appropriate to employ deadly force. Otherwise, guns just result in needless death and destruction.

There is plenty of matgerial there to suggest that many of the same folks posting in this thread think a complete ban would be in order. Some people here have been told that they should not be allowed to have a gun. If the question doesn't pertain to you, don't answer.
