I would think someone who is a convicted criminal and who has engaged in certain behaviors sort of does not need to have guns.

And this is what is wrong with gun control in this country. People who plainly should not have guns being allowed to own them.

Guns should be like cars. Title needs to transfer. You should not be able to get a gun unless you are able to produce documentation saying you are entitled to own one.

    No, I don't think it's a broad sweep.

Not only you shouldn't have a gun, but anyone who does use a gun in the commission of a crime should get a life sentence.

I brought you up because you brought you up first. You mentioned a criminal past and that's enough for me to say you should not have a gun.

It's a problem in this country.

And you can see it right here, on this board, one reason there is so much gun violence. ANYONE can just go buy a gun and it simply does not matter who they are, what they've done, or what their mental state may be.

The reason someone convicted of drug use should not be in posession of a gun is because when you are under the influence of drugs, you may not understand what you are doing and become violent when you otherwise would not have.

That's why drug users should not have gun ownership privileges.

This guy in Virginia, if we had some sort of testing and evaluation of gun owners, he'd never would have gotten one. He was plainly nuts.
