If it burst, Tom, it wouldn't have been as simple as that. The same thing happened to my sister, and it was quite serious. She was in the hospital for a couple of weeks, and I was afraid for a while she might not make it.

That doesn't take away from your earlier post and the rarity, based on number of doctor interactions. Not to mention the whole apple and orange thing to begin with.

Yes, eventually the doctors saved me, after gutting me like a fish because one of their arrogant peers could not make a simple call on a very obvious case of appendicitis.
Trust me, there are plenty of doctors out there who are a danger to their patients.
How this plays into a gun debate, I have no idea.

Guilty as charged. No offense intended, and I apologize for my insensitivity.

By way of explanation, I have a very close friend who has been through multiple health crises (and close to death a couple of times just in the past year) and his sense of humor about the whole thing tends to rub off on me. That was an example of it. I should keep in mind not everyone is as nuts as he is.

When I had appendicitis symptoms my doctor had blood and urine tests done, but they came back negative. He wasn't satisfied and ordered CAT scan, which confirmed that I had appendicitis. It was removed without incident.
