I have to give Bill O'Reilly credit on this one as one of the few on the right talking about it in a fair way and not phony, for-the-microphone outrage that others are.

Of course, he received a ton of hate mail for that sin.

    Oh yeah.

    >>...but this seems to suggest that you acknowledge the GOP is knowingly beating up on Kerry for something he really didn't mean to do, no matter how it came out. Not that this type of this is their exclusive domain, but that is what is going on.<<
This is what I said yesterday:
    >>I don't for a moment doubt that Kerry simply bungled a scripted punchline... That the GOP has jumped on this is not surprising in the least. At this stage in the game, it is clear that there will be no more cross over votes. So this kind of non-controversy is exactly the red meat needed to galvanize the base. And that's what Republican strategists are pinning their hopes on now.

So... thanks to John Kerry, the GOP may just pull this one out!<<
    <a href="http://mb.laughingplace.com/default.asp?WCI=MsgBoard&WCE=T-81300-P-4&Refresh=1102084929" target="_blank">http://mb.laughingplace.com/de
    fault.asp?WCI=MsgBoard&WCE=T-81300-P-4&Refresh=1102084929</a>

At this point I believe that the GOP doesn't need to do much more with this. It has grown its own legs and will run on its own for a while. At least, until the next meaningless "controversy" comes along.

    >>Don't you think voters can see through that as well?<<
Not really. I think that voters are looking at anything that distracts from a campaign season that has offered little more than "The Bush party lies" and "Democrats want to cut and run."

Darn, I missed it. I like tuning back and forth from him to AirAmerica. It's like tuning into two different planets when a story like this is breaking.

I know that I am looking for a candidate who is willing to forgo the charade that has become partisan politicking.

    LOL!

Just one more question, Mr. Dland...

Why do you hate our troops?
