Assuming 5 round trips it would cost you around $80 Australian. And also taxi will get you closer to the gates of either park than a bus or train would.

Seems like it would be worth budgeting for, given the info you have provided.

It's easy enough to say "Disneylando" or "Disney-She" to get to the parks. I would suggest you ask the place you're staying to write down their address or give you a card in Japanese, so at the end of the day you can simply show it to the driver and avoid any hassles or confusion getting back. Also, as Nezumi mentioned you're staying near Juntendo Hospital which is well known to any local taxi drivers so you can mention that too if necessary.

I believe SD was recommending the MyStays location in Maihama, which is just two blocks from TDS. Here's the English site:

That's right. I guess we're still not sure which one she's referring to, as both Shin-Urayasu and Maihama are "in Urayasu", which is how she identified it. That is, both will have "Urayasu-shi" in the address.

Its more expensive than weekly mansion but if the taxi goes closer..might be worth it atthe end of a long day for my feet. Your thoughts?

Public transit is excellent in Japan, but sometimes involves a lot of walking. And, especially this summer, escalators will be turned off in stations, which means lots of stairs, or perhaps a much longer walk to the single elevator that may serve a platform or station.

Perhaps what would be best is a hotel that's within the minimum fare distance of the parks' front entrance. This would allow you to take a taxi directly from your hotel to the parks. Taxis can be expensive in Japan for any substantial distance, but the minimum far is only 700 yen, and that includes tax and there is no tipping. A general rule of thumb for a lot of people is that if it's short enough to be within the minimum fare, they'll just walk, but that doesn't apply in your situation. Taking the train or the bus is going to involve a lot more walking than a taxi direct to the park.

I that perhaps some people have commandeered such places for a nap, but I wouldn't recommend it. Be considerate of the handicapped persons that need such a facility!

As others have stated, it's almost a sure bet that First Aid will have a place to lay down for a little while if you need a rest. I know someone that was otherwise healthy but ran into a bad day where they really needed to lay down for an hour or so at DL due to the heat. First Aid provided them just the place to do so - they told them that it wasn't a day room at a hotel and they couldn't just stay there as long as they wanted, but if they just needed to lay down for an hour, it was okay. I'm sure they're just as accommodating at TDR.

My understanding is that the handicapped bathrooms are provided for people whose disability means they need specially-designed facilities and fixtures and/or extra privacy in order to "use" the bathroom. As far as I know, the handicapped bathrooms are not intended to be used as napping places, by people with or without handicaps. Someone that uses a single-occupant handicapped bathroom for a 1-2 hour nap is going to be depriving people that can only use the bathroom with the aid of such a facility from that very necessary accommodation. My understanding is that if someone is in need of a mid-day nap while in the parks, that First Aid is the appropriate place to receive such an accommodation, and not the nearest handicapped bathroom. I didn't mean to minimize the seriousness or bona-fides of any particular situation.
