And I do better talking on the phone than texting. So if you're ever texting me and I text back "driving" don't text me back

Me, on the other hand, I can't afford to pay $471 so I wait for the break. Plus, as others have said, holding a phoen to one's ear or not isn't going to change the way people drive. How many of us know people who turn to talk to their friends in the backseat?

And another thing: Ever since phones went digital from analog ... voice sounds actually sound more muffled .. so digital does not always mean an improvement! Another thing is car noise. All windows could be up ... and the person on my phone is still hard to understand! I've heard of seperate units you can attach to the visor.....(not sure that is loud enough). But I wonder how much success any of you are having with connecting through your car radio.

This is a common trick in the legislature, put in a fine at a low fine then gradually jack it up until it hurts. Remember when red light cameras came out. They used to be cheaper than if an officer pulled you over now they are more expensive. Remember, the seat belt law. It used to only cost you $50, not any more. Same thing will happen to this law. It will be minor for a year or so, then it will go way up.

A: The law does not specifically prohibit that, but an officer can pull over and issue a citation to a driver of any age if, in the officer’s opinion, the driver was distracted and not operating the vehicle safely. Sending text messages while driving is unsafe at any speed and is strongly discouraged." At least they strongly discourage it!

One laptop had the highspeed internet celular gateway and we used that as an internet access point. than the rest of the cars got onto the network and we were playing half life all the way to vegas with a few people browsing the internet. 10 cars in all with 13 laptops going.
