I was able to get tickets for the concert really easily (well, the surcharge didn't feel so "easy") but a lot of the tickets were scalped for hundreds/thousands of dollars. Insane.

Are you able to at least make a trip to see the Soda Fountain?

Keep in mind Hollywood and Highland is across the street and is also walking distance from both the Hollywood Roosevelt (the lobby is GORGEOUS!) and Grauman's. They have specialty ice cream sundaes that get you a one-of-a-kind pin that matches the theme of your sundae. They sometimes have merchandise that is Soda Fountain only, which I appreciate. Also, the manager there is a nice guy. I wouldn't put it past him to get you an escort into the Theatre (they are hooked together) between movies just to see the grandeur if you mention you traveled from the UK but wouldn't particularly be interested in buying a ticket to HM.

Even if I had the cash I still would have walked away!

That's because other people took seats for their 1 and 2 year olds who didn't have a ticket.
