She's not on TV so much here (Aus.) but she seems to have her face on everything from Advent Calendars to Cushions..

What really gets me is how many times does this child need to celebrate her birthday? Another issue that I have is how can DISNEY and her parents allow this young girl to have a boyfriend who is 21. What kind of a message are you sending out to our little girls. Now come on DISNEY let's get real here.
Thank goodness that my daughter won't be watching this show.

As for Hannah/Miley, I'm personally just glad Disney have stopped putting Lindsay Lohan in everything ...

In regards to the current\recent Disney starlet's ie Linds, Miley, Raven, et al. I'm sorry yes Annette was over exposed but she has a dollup more class and "innocence" appeal then these ladies do. I'm sorry but when I have a daughter I don't want her to idolize semi-talented spoiled brats. Call me old fashioned.

In regards to rap music, uh rap isn't just talking. Rap is rapping. Too many rap artists today can't do it old school. Minimal vocal range, no beat boxing, and meaningless or vulgar lyrics. Talk to me about adversity don't tell me how much illegal substances you're pumping into your body and how much you can bend the law.

I love the follow the crowd mentality with everything. Just because it has Disney on it doesn't mean it's the best family programming out there. I for one like the slightly grittier/real feel of the kids on Degrassi. And oh my gosh, they're the age they're playing!

I'm sorry for me I like artists who compose their lyrics the best, not those who lip sync and take a million takes with some vocal enhancement to sound good. Granted I would need a lot of help from a creative mixer. I also don't like studio produced artists. Give me someone who started indie. Give me someone who's probably on drugs :p (What great rock artist hasn't been high?)

Note I do not condone the use of drugs. Cuz drugs are bad ok?!

Miley has been everywhere this week with her new movie coming out - and she keeps whining about wanting a car for her birthday! Umm she doesn't even have her permit yet!

I think the shows are just stupid and poor children's entertainment. My girlfriend and I have this Netflix streaming thing and we decided to check out this Hannah Montana show and we were surprised at just how BAD it was. I couldn't find any redeeming qualities about it what-so-ever.

I would limit the overall amount of time my children spend watching TV but I would have them watch quality movies like Iron Giant or My Neighbor Totoro.

The Disney Channel on the other hand is just awful.

I'm sorry, but this just cracks me up. They're on Howard Stern and they think Hannah Montana is too "sexed up." Geez. Take the plank out of your own eye before pointing out the speck in the eye of another.

This is not a surprising opinion coming from someone who listens to Stern. I wouldn't imagine there would be much commonality between those two spheres of influence.

It's a radio show for adults.

I like Stern and Disneyland. What's the problem?

Now I don't even bother to turn to it because I know I'll just be killing brain cells... (along with VH1 and MTV)

As for Myle Cyrus, I wouldn't be surprised if she just snaps one day. She's already said in an interview she doesn't like Hannah Montana and wants to leave Disney. We could have the next Britney or Lindsey. A girl that young with that much money, who knows what she'll do.

Actually I disagree. She is certainly very talented. She really can sing and sing well, without digitized magic.

This is a disgusting comparison. There is no such thing as a kid friendly Paris Hilton. And I don't think Paris Hilton is everywhere.

Last fall, I would have totally agreed that she was overrated and on everything, but I do see some redeeming values in her now. Until recently, I had never actually had any exposure to her acting or singing, but what I've seen has been pretty good. I saw the Hannah Montana movie with my grandma (she thought I wanted to see it and I thought she wanted to see it, but we both ended up enjoying it), and it was very well done. She definately seemed to have a pretty good range to her acting and was just a very relateable character. I thought she did an outstanding job as Penny in Bolt, and I wouldn't have even known it was her, had it not been advertised so heavily.

But the thing that really made me realize that she's the real deal was her performance with Taylor Swift at the Grammys. They sang a ballad duet that was full of emotion. Backed up by Taylor in acoustic gituar, there was no room for error, and they did not have any. Listening to it in person for both the dress rehearsal and the actual show, I can say that it was definately one of the most impressive numbers in a show full of very talented people. It wasn't a big production number or a catchy song, but it was pure and real and performed in a way that's very exposed and very hard to pull off well. And they did just that.

So you can complain that her show is meaningless and full of slapstick humor to no end, and rarely teaches a real lesson, but when you say that she doesn't have any talent, I just have to disagree wholeheartedly.
