Well, I suppose the unltimate "bashers", if you will, would be the higher ups in the company who made the decision to finally take a wrecking ball to that main entrance, and completely redo it.

Come to think of it, the only time I've puked at a Disney resort was at the GCH. Could there be a pattern?

In a couple years, people are going to be all excited on my birthday and want to make a big deal for my 15th but you know what? They can go jump in a lake for all I care. If they didn't care before I had a Carsland and a Little Mermaid and a World of Color, then they can just kiss me right on my brand new fancy schmantzy entrance, when it gets completed. Well, gotta go. Those all you can eat breadsticks don't consume themselves. -- DCA

But anyway... whatever DCA's problems, not getting a big-deal anniversary celebration is not one of them; as you pointed out, it doesn't really happen for secondary parks.

Tokyo DisneySea, which had its grand opening on September 4, 2001, will celebrate this milestone anniversary for almost a whole year from April 23, 2011 through March 19, 2012, divided into five different periods. Among the many magical programs to be offered are the new nighttime spectacular, “Fantasmic!” featuring Mickey as the Sorcerer’s Apprentice; and the new attraction, Jasmine’s Flying Carpets. ___________ The lack of publicity given to DCA's 10th doesn't appear to be a matter of budget or costs, since a willingness to observe DisneySea's 10th is one of mainly hype and promotion. So it's mainly a matter of symbolism, sort of similar to when one child says to his or her brother/sister: "Mom likes you and treats you better than me!" Or DCA has been like the Disney family's addled aunt in the attic. Hopefully a major extreme makeover and electro-shock therapy will turn things around for the old gal.

It sort of fits your analogy that DCA is possibly an unwanted or out-of-wedlock child---or the unkind word whose first 3 letters begin with "bas."
