It merely self destructed when it's own supports structure failed - from poor design. They spent way too much money on an effect that is seen for mere seconds and could have been achieved in a comparable number of ways for substantially less cost. This is what happens when engineers obsessed with technology get in the way of doing what is right for the actual show/presentation.

As a Disney lover, I find that just plain sad.

And the Fantasyland Expansion is so marketing/merchendise driven that it just reeks of greed. So while I am frustrated and saddened by Disney's attitude. Uni is really trying, I mean REALLY trying to make something special. And people will throw money at them. Oh, And one more tidbit about the food/beverage offering. Not only will there be Butterbeer and Pumpkin Juice for the kiddies, In the Hog's Head Pub they have an exclusive microbrew ale called "Hog's Brew" and Firewhiskey for the adults. And rumor has it they will also be selling Mead and Absenthe
