That is my understand of why the Yeti doesn't run anymore. <<

That, sir, is the Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.

Who knows whether or not it's the truth.

It merely self destructed when it's own supports structure failed - from poor design.

They spent way too much money on an effect that is seen for mere seconds and could have been achieved in a comparable number of ways for substantially less cost. This is what happens when engineers obsessed with technology get in the way of doing what is right for the actual show/presentation.

I posted all my evidence back when SSE first reopened. "steve" and his Magical friends did their best to make it go away as they retold the lie - agai and again - that SSE was waiting for approal and funding for the finale to be "turned on."

It never was - and never will be.

What about your proof for your story on the Yeti? It doesn't sound all that different from what Anatole said, but you seem to think there's a fundamental difference between the two.

I can see the fundamental flaw in that line of thinking. Most anyone wth a basic knowledge of how a show effect show work in the cost structure of a show should understand that.

They put the cost of the figure out there - it's public information, they touted it. They spent too much.

What projectors? Where? And why would screens for projectors have support structures going through them and obstructions infront of them and on their surfaces? Blatant black discs from the support system that they mounted with.

If Disney did this we'd be looking at TSMM with wands and a few set pieces ... the shops would have a few tees and films and LE pins and then pixie crap and Pooh plush and Tink hoodies would be tossed in.

And food? Burgers and chicken fingers anyone?

Seriously, there's a right way to do things and there's Disney's current way.

EE is the closest thing to a real E-Ticket built this decade and how many posts above are talking about how nothing works, especially its top special effect.

I wonder if Bob Iger and/or Tom Staggs will check WWoHP out ... or even Al Weiss.

At the end of the day, Disney whores recycled parades and pyro to social media sites while Universal makes magic.

    That's the reality in Orlando.

Because even if Potter struggles with its tech, even if people grumble about waits or breakdowns, the heart of the matter is UNI is pushing the envelope here.

    Disney isn't.

Nothing in FLA in the plans for the next 3-4=5 years even comes remotely close.

As a fan, I find that pathetic.

As a shareholder, I find that irresponsible.

As a Disney lover, I find that just plain sad.

Then I went to IOA and was really inpressed. while it doesn't have a HUGE number of attractions I thought they were all really well done and the themeiing immersive. I was so excited to see what Disney would bring to the table as an answer to it. So Disney opened DCA 2 years later. To sad I was disappointed would be an understatement. I was stunned at how bad a large chunk of the place was. As a Disney fan it just made me sad and to be honest a bit angry. Since then Disney has just gotten worse with Chester and Hester's, and in recent years here in FL pathetic in their lack of ambition and just plain laziness. This Summer Nightastic thing, with its 37 year old parade and rebranded fireworks is lazy. That is really the only way I can describe it. And the Fantasyland Expansion is so marketing/merchendise driven that it just reeks of greed. So while I am frustrated and saddened by Disney's attitude. Uni is really trying, I mean REALLY trying to make something special. And people will throw money at them.

Oh, And one more tidbit about the food/beverage offering. Not only will there be Butterbeer and Pumpkin Juice for the kiddies, In the Hog's Head Pub they have an exclusive microbrew ale called "Hog's Brew" and Firewhiskey for the adults. And rumor has it they will also be selling Mead and Absenthe

Perfectly said. We can only hope that this lights a few fires under TDO....

And Merf, your pics and proof are a bit outdated. Do some more research and talk to a few more people.

And UniFanbois aren't quite a fanatical as Disney's Fanbois. They are more into just going to the parks and having fun. UNLESS you get into a Hollywood Horror nights discussion. Then they are pretty nuts about the whole thing.
