Instead, over the years, they have done everything possible to expand it. Were this new pay-extra-for-fireworks plan to happen, it wouldn't be because there are too many APs. It would be because Disney discovered a new revenue source. I'll believe Disney views the 1 million APers as a "problem" when they stop promoting the program, or start actively making efforts to scale it back. Thus far, zero evidence that they ever intend to do so.

So when we see that program eliminated, I'll believe that Disney views the AP program as a problem. Selling a million APs plus charging an extra premium price for an evening party is called having one's cake and eating it, too. I'd bet that many of the folks buying those hard tickets are already APers -- hardcore Disney fans, D23 members, you name it.

What about the families who save for months in order to get to DL during the holidays, and now must pay extra just to see a parade and fireworks show. Some/many won't be able to pay the extra. No,,,this has NOTHING to do with APs and everything to do with finding that extra revenue. But, Disney can do whatever it wants. However, it'll be a shame if this turns out to be true.

And every year at some point, an article of this sort comes up. And every year Disney goes on promoting and selling an ever increasing number of APs. From Disney's perspective, you know what the "AP problem" probably is? That there aren't a billion of 'em. ; )

No, they raise it to the level that people are willing to pay, and even in a deep recession, raising ticket prices has never stopped. And then they instituted a program to make monthly payments rather than have to come up with it all at once. Yeah, sounds like it's a real problem. 9 9 _

But people still think Disney sees APs as a problem (cue: confused look). But, I stopped renewing and haven't been to DL in a record-setting six months. So, keep the hate, people...

In the case of Halloween the problem has been solved by having hard ticket events.
