There isn't one.

Ok...LOL. I guess if you need to use this kind of logic, my point is lost on you. To all you defenders of the Disney Hotels on this thread, I want to thank you, you have made my point brilliantly. I do hope you enjoy your stays at the Disney properties, I know they appreciate it!

Also like clockwork on threads like this, after making personal attacks like "suckers" or saying it's about "status," these same people then go for, "Sheesh! Just relax, it's just a discussion board." For people who say it's just a discussion, they are oddly invested in convincing people that those people's personal choices are wrong wrong wrong! I wonder how many of those people convinced Disney hotels are a rip off subscribe to cable TV. Seriously? You spend over a $1,000 a year on freaking TV?!? What a bunch of losers! Get a life, boob tubers, pick up a book and learn something. Go for a hike! Raise your own kids instead of letting Phineas and Ferb do it! Sheesh! See how easy it is to mock others for their choices and spending their money on things they enjoy. Fortunately, most of us aren't so insecure and don't need to reinforce our own choices by belittling others.

It is a fair question, but I very much doubt I will ever get an honest answer to it. As far as belittling, you sure do your fair share of it.

Originally Posted By ecdc >>So, asking if status may have anything to do with ones choice to stay Disney is now considered a personal attack?<< This is getting deliciously silly. You didn't ask a benign question, you engaged in a loaded question logical fallacy with the presumption of guilt built in (aka, the "how often do you beat your wife" fallacy). You underscored this point by finishing your post with the line, "There, I said it," as if you were engaged in some kind of bold, "let the chips fall where they may" truth telling, pulling away the curtain to show what all those Disney property hotel lovers were all about, regardless of the implications of your brazenness. You did that over the fact that some people are okay with spending money on a hotel that you think is overpriced. Some of you are hilariously ticked off that some people are okay spending their money on this. You say you're just asking questions, having a discussion, educating...and yet, you just can't accept that maybe other intelligent, capable adults choose to spend their money on this. You seem so determined to "prove" that they are suckers, stupid, rich, or just looking for a status symbol. The investment in proving this is...bizarrely amusing. And with that, I think I've enjoyed the conversation as much as one man is allowed You all go right on with your "People Against People Spending Money on Disney Hotels" campaign. Best of luck!

But the rooms are some of the largest on property, the location is great, and you get great service. The CM are probably aware that it is not the preferred DL hotel and do everything that can to win you over. If you happen to get a DCA view room you will LOVE it!

(I've never stayed at ANY Anaheim hotel. And I don't have cable.) But the star rating of a Disney hotel strikes me as totally irrelevant. Because they don't give you any extra stars for being a DISNEY hotel. If you're taking your family to Disneyland, then the Disneyland-owned properties get about a million stars, and the Hyatt doesn't get any. Because they Hyatt (a) doesn't cater to families, and (b) isn't at DIsneyland. Go ahead and stay at the Hyatt, Snappy, and save all that money. Your kids will hate your guts for choosing such a staggeringly boring hotel. And it's so far from the park that you have to take a friggin' bus!

We wanted to stay at the Contemporary Resort, but NO WAY was Dad paying such an exorbitant room rate. So we didn't. $29 a night. We've never let him live that down.

I hope this was a joke, because if your kids, or anyone's, bases their love or hate toward their parents based on something as trivial as what hotel you choose, I am truly sad for that person...and their children.
