It is a film product and therefore rests entirely with Tom Fitzgerald and TPP. Baxter can play with the queue area but that is where his creative influence stops. And Lasseter has NO budgetary approval capabilities for any of the parks - he can't push it through without board approval. If he has so much influence then how come it is 3 1/2 years since he came onboard at WDI and we have not a single significant attraction at DL to show for it? Not even groundbreaking has happened on anything. Lasseter loves DL but he is happiest keeping Pixar and Feature Animation going.

As more and more people who knew Walt retire or pass away you continally get a diluted version of the original ideas and things that made Disney great. Once in a while you get a great addition (I love Soarin) but consider that Soarin was probably the only great thing to come out of DCA...an entirely new theme park. The reality is that there are many companies that can build Disney type attractions and do it well. I would say Univeral and Sea World have experiences that are as good and as immersive as Disney. It has always been the extras that made Disney special. Disney needs to stop looking like its competitors and look a lot more like Disney.

I have been wealthy and I have been poor. But I have always been me with uncompromised standards.

I hate seeing people here start wearing "elitist snob" as some kind of badge of honor because it is really rather reprehensible behavior. ELITIST <<Main Entry: elit·ism Pronunciation: \ā-ˈlē-ˌti-zəm, i-, ē-\ Function: noun Date: 1947 1: leadership or rule by an elite2: the selectivity of the elite ; especially : snobbery <elitism in choosing new members>3: consciousness of being or belonging to an elite — elit·ist \-ˈlē-tist\ noun or adjective>> SNOB <<Main Entry: snob Pronunciation: \ˈsnäb\ Function: noun Etymology: origin unknown Date: 1781 1British : cobbler2: one who blatantly imitates, fawningly admires, or vulgarly seeks association with those regarded as social superiors3 a: one who tends to rebuff, avoid, or ignore those regarded as inferior b: one who has an offensive air of superiority in matters of knowledge or taste>> Source: Definitions from webster.com Now do those definitions really fit with how you see yourself? I hope not. (Though shades of SNOB 3b: certainly show up in an occasional post.) ;-)

I want the best of the best to be our leaders. And I want to be the best of the best. Therefore I am elitist in that respect. I strive for perfection, even when it may be unachievable as an end goal. And that is what Walt did to. And he couldn't always do it, then he would put latin labels on weeds, trying to at least step it up.

Whether it is someone dissing Paris Hilton, or don't like Nascar, or thinks Opera is too pretentious. All could be described as snobbery.

My tastes may run more to Calder and Kandinsky, but I'm certainly not going to dump on someone who prefers Thomas Kincaid. It's probably really nice being able to collect your favorite artist on stationery and quilts... ;-)
