"(7/9/09) According to the rumor mill the proposal to finally remodel Fantasyland is getting very close to getting final approval. To hear one person describe it, it is no longer a matter of “If” but has moved into the realm of “How big?” Either way the long overdue circus tent style banners are on the way out to be replaced with a more fitting looking village theme, probably more in line with what they have at Disneyland."

There's more on that link, just didn't want to fit it all. <<

yoyoflip93 according to LeeMac there are a lot of things on the table right now, but no firm approvals to implement anything.

try this one. If it doesn't work you can go to Screamscape.com and then News and rumors. You will see the MK Fantasyland Rehab topic to click on there.

So if this all becomes true I think that it will be a much needed improvment. If they can even widen the walkway that would be a start. the new attractions would be a big improvment. then again I would love to see Mr. toads Wild ride come back. We all know that will not happen. But its a start.Maybe the taking down of the skyway is a start of new things to come.

That would be a HUGE mistake. Sure, the MK has its faults. But what would you prefer for your "other park"? California Adventure or Epcot and Animal Kingdom?

Whatever faults the MK has, the vast superiority of the additional gates at WDW more than makes up for it.

The Disney park experience just isn't the same without the Showcase and Illuminations in the evening.

The crown is looking a little smudged ...

    Using him?!!

    For what? Comic relief.

<<I hope he'll be rewarded for his good deed (the pin trading) and he'll come back from this trip a Refreshed Spirit who is convinced WDW still has lots of Soul.>>

I don't think he'll be a refreshed Spirit because he's been a victim of crime back home (someone did a smash and grab on his Benz without grabbing anything ... must have gotten scared unless Homeland Security or some pissed off Disney exec decided to put a tracking device on the Spirit's wheels!)

And also because he hasn't gotten more than six hours of sleep any night here (10 hours of Spirited Slumber are required at WDW.

But there certainly is plenty of soul here ... but the MK has also lost oodles of it.

I am totally wiped though ... I've done two commando like days at Disney and one at SW this week (the joys of family and friends visiting!)

I also would have liked to have spent more time at Aquatica (it's at capacity every day about 90 minutes after opening), made it over to Tampa to check out BGT or gone over to the Cape tonight (not going to with the weather looking iffy and having plans tonight!)

I am so tired, what were we talking about?

I tried, I tried ... but many folks have been buying the Spirit lots of great food ... best so far: Sanaa at DAK DVC (give them six months and it'll suck because it is amazing now) and Shark Water Grill at Sea World (one of the best Orlando theme park restaurants ... imagine Coral Reef with much fewer brats, much larger portions and great drinks and desserts) ... honorble mention goes to Fultons's, Portobello, and Raglan Road (funny how they are all at WDW, but not run by it).

Worst meal? ... thankfully, there really hasn't been a bad one. Even the chicken ceasar salad at Crossroads McD's was very good!

Biggest non-regret: that twice I decided against eating at Brown Derby due to their absurd DDP pricepoints.

You are just soooo jealous because I am soooo cooler than you!

And please remember that it was my 'toy' that managed to get us off Piartes after spending 10 minutes looking at a drunken Jack Sparrow repeating himself over and over again ...

It's true ... to some extent.

But also likely greatly exaggerated. There are no evil Godless Commies ordering Disney to put quality into The Timeshare Kingdom of the World (although I admit, I do want to stay at BLT after seeing it!)

There is a $500 million project for a redo for Fantasyland. I'd gush like MPierce when he sees Sarah Palin on TV if they spent half of it at this point!
