    There are Wal-Mart stores that are well-kept and employ helpful people, just as there are Target stores that are the opposite. I live near examples of each. I go about a mile out of my way to shop at a nicer Target store than the one closest to me. Safer, too.

    Not quite the same as a quick dash to the hardware store to get that whatchamacallit that they help you find in 30 seconds and you're right back out.

    Not saying Home Depot is all that bad, but at least at the 3-4 that I have been in, the employees are not "readily" available to cater to all my needs like in the commercials.

    Seems to work for me, but you know, every location and employee is going to be different.
