They do that and they end up getting sued for something stupid.

If this is being done for capacity, it's stupid.

I think it is better to keep a ride shut while an important aspect of the show is repaired rather than keep it operating just to keep people going through it.

It seems like every time I get out of the stretching room, the hallway is backed up with other guests waiting to get onto the attraction. I've even seen it a couple times where it's so crowded that the first stretching room doesn't have time to unload before the doors to the second open up. It doesn't help that they're filling each room up to capacity (to help deal with the long lines outside), but it really does seem a little rediculous to listen to the narration 2-3 times before loading, and it's just not fun to stand in those kinds of crowds ever.

I noticed the HM castmember is very strict about guest entry and has no problem shutting THAT door(the first door actually encountered after the walk thru Queue.) So that door offers the only slowdown in guest movement. As soon as we all walk forward the next door opening has already occurred and it is just non-stop walk-thru. It does change the atmosphere but the cramped crowding at the end of the outdoor Q is a problem they did not foresee. It feels like a dead end and creates no airflow and is extremely hot especially when they keep telling us to move forward and leave no room for ghosts in front or behind. I actually got claustrophic and went thru the first exit and had fun ringing the bells for the servants I assume!

I've only seen the parlor seen being loaded halfway through the show once (with a heavy "tisk-tisk" from me, only to be countered by a "Sir" and a sigh. But I have never seen the streching rooms opened before the end of the show.

And if they did they'd be in big trouble. Managers only care about the show when a CM makes a brain fart and they get to yell at said CM. And coming from that area, this is totally a manager decision.

It's happened repeatedly since then, so it's not a rare instance. I don't know what they gain from that, maybe a staffing savings or something by not having to have a CM in that stretch room? Whatever the reason, it's extremely tacky and a perfect example of how they just do stuff ALL WRONG out there in Orlando. I mean really, at this point, sometimes I wonder why they even bother? Why not just shut the place down and sell the land to housing developers?

Yes, this is a bad example of WDW management making a poor decision. But does that negate all of the things that they do right? Just a few years ago we were all raving when they put the Esher staircase and the new attic in. And more recently the new queue and ending debuted to mixed reviews, but at least they were trying. I have such a great time at WDW - yes, even at the Magic Kingdom! There's a lot of fun to be had there, but there are a few dumb things that they need to do better.
