Have CM's always been this way?

    Having this revolving door of CM's and the cost of training them - I would think that is costing the company millions?

    That is a false assumption. When you look at Disney's annual reports, you find that over the years they have routinely invested more money in theme parks than profits generated there. The reverse is actually a more true statement -- film, tv, and merchandise have financed Disney's theme park expenditures.

    Disney talks to CM's about the "Disney Difference," the intangible benfit that CM's get for working at such a wonderful place as Disneyland.

    Now, lots of people sneer at the "Disney Difference." It's easy to ignore it, but I think it's real. A job that pays $8.50 (or whatever) at Disneyland is, for most CM's, more satisfying than the same job at the same pay somewhere else.

    Part of the problem is the dollar value you place on the Disney Difference. I think Disney would like to believe that it's worth a couple of bucks an hour to the typical CM, but I think 25 or 50 cents an hour would be more accurate.
