I had the time of my life and met some friends that will probably remain in my life forever I wanted to go the past couple of years but again, with shcool and work i couldn't do it, especailly since my mom is a teacher and the only time she can go is during vacation times which is my busy time at work at disney. We are hoping for this winter!

It was perfect. The worst memory was waking up on a sleeper train to find we'd been robbed ... I think that's part of why we haven't been back since then - of course it could happen anywhere, but it put a real damper on our trip and we had to head home early.

Originally Posted By Big Thunder Hi Dave Thanks for asking about new job. It's OK [they're sending me to Switzerland so that's good] For months I missed my old job terribly, I still do sometimes, but lately I've been happier at new job. I miss the road, I was used to traveling and living out of hotels almost every week, believe it or not I miss that. I miss the independance and freedom I used to have. I miss my old customers, my favorite hotels, etc. There are pluses and minuses, I am trying to focus on the positives. I'm making progress and doing what I was hired to do, they are happy with the results I am producing, that's a good thing. As for what part of Switzerland I'm going to. A day in Zurich, then to Lucerne for a day and a half, then to Liestal and Bubendorf in Basel-Country for 4 days. I don't know much about the area, I will be working with the companies of the Swiss products that I sell during the day and networking and meetings at night. I wish I had more free time to spend in Luzerne. I hear it is gorgeous there this time of year. Saturday they are taking me sight seeing somewhere in the alps, that should be fun. I decided not rent a car for a few reason, #1 there are expense in Europe compared to car rentals here [the weak USD doesn't help either] #2 I am curious and excited to try the train systems that I hear so much about in Europe. I visited the Schwitzer Bahn website [sbb.ch] I am amazed that I can go ANYWHERE on the trains. I'm staying at a business hotel in Zurich, the other hotels were booked for me by my Swiss associates. Do you know them? "Bad Bubendorf" I presume that "bad" means something else in Swiss or German, the place looks cozy and the food looks good... http://www.badbubendorf.ch in Lucerne it's http://www.balances.ch I am told this is a nice place right on the river. I wish I were staying longer at Des Balances. Even though I cant eat it [I may cheat once] I want to bring back some Swiss chocolate, my European boss says I'm crazy because I can buy Swiss chocolate at stores here in the states but I am wanting to bring something authentic for friends and family, do you have any recommendations? Any other tips are welcomed. Again thanks for asking about my job change, I'm sorry I missed you on your Calif. visit. I hope your new job is working out
