The two games in Boston ,Vancouver got into penalty trouble with many of the calls questionable...They how ever still managed to take it to Boston and once again tried to beat his first aggressive move before he got there and couldn;t other wise they may have been up in the first period of game 3 by a couple. A broken stick early got Boston an early lead..a mistake put them behind 2-0..we had missed three break aways before this...Lou was not the fault of the goals, Boston just finished well..We then gave up a shorty, but really a penalty should have been called for a 5 on 3 Kessler had his stick chopped in half and had to get a new one they scored on the rush...The third period we carried a good portion of the play just could not score..Boston scored some flukey goals as a result of each team down to 8 or 9 players,,you know those games go you shoot and it goes in..it was a 8-1 loss but really 4-1 was more deserving.. Game 4 much the same as game 3 except Vancouver tightened up a lot more, the ice was terrible in both games very very slow, Boston cleaners barely cleaned the ice..you could see the snow along the boards and the goal crease in Bostons end was still full of snow around the posts..we wondered why everyone was falling on both teams and the puck was bouncing every where..Boston were working much harder though in the 2nd period and third..we controlled the last ten minutes but too little too late.. The officials were not great, as usual... nothing new there, but in both games we had enough good chances to win both games..just could not solve thomas.. Well Monday is a new game..Boston has a smaller rink , in both games Vancouver chose to attack thru centre ice...Bad idea..I would of gone down the wing, higgans had three break aways in game 4 from the wing..raymond had two clear breaks, Manny had one, kessler had one.semi break. Vancouver is going to have to out hit boston, not get into a situation where the refs can call that lame penalty, they are going to have to skate hard for 60 minutes..with no turn overs...they can do it , thomas will not have such a easy time with it if they execute differently ...Luongo has to be sharp, Boston is going to come hard and empty the tank...Vancouver can not think what game it is , they just have to think win..one period at a time..

Vancouver clearly thru this last series has not been given a fair shake at all.. The Slash on Bieska..not even a hint of a penalty even though all four witnessed it...no review was done, the elbow to sedins head no penalty , no review, the late hit on burrows, no penalty, no review, the punch to the head, no penalty no review, the two handed goal stick slash by thomas, no penalty no review...but the hit by rome which murphy said would have been set as a clean hit if .3 of a second earlier..that is a joke...because I tape the games, I did a timing of the major hits in the series...85 per cent of the hits were over 1.1 -1.2 after the puck was played...some were right on, others were early...to arrive at the reasoning is mind boggling....he was late no question, but he was late with a good hit, the reason why he was hurt was because he was puck watching...had he not been puck watching nothing would of happened...the fella on Bostons TV net work says the same thing, he thinks the canucks are getting the shaft..our announcers are not fans of the Canucks... Only after the Canucks won did the news cast finally raise the Bieska non call. only because the Boston fella said it was a poor hockey play..a cheap shot... Vancouver has been guilty of cheap shots and have had some penalties . We agree Burrows should have been fined for his chomp...Boston should of been as well, they were half of the problem...it is not the teams it is the darn referees that are the problem...they are playing around with something that they should stay out of...call the game, a penalty is a penalty, a spear is a spear, the intent was to spear so penalize the intent...if you hit a vulnerable player, penalize him..if he gets hurt, suspend him, if it is us so be it as long as it is processed equally to both teams.. It is a new slate tonite..referees have been given their instructions they did not abide last game or the game before with the instructions, they too are now under every ones watchful eye, wish I kept the games I taped...going to keep tonites any way... So don't get us wrong vbdad...most people agree and a lot of Boston people agree Vancouver has been short changed in this one..so far.The refs missed two too many men in successive games, very easy calls..interference on kessler when it was chara who ran into the keeper, a phoney high stick..just was nothing there....I must say thou ,the last period and a half was just fine...both teams would agree to that...it was exciting should be, it is the finals.. All that has been said, means nothing now, new slate..hope it goes well for the Canucks..

My husband, lifelong Canuck's fan, is embarrassed by their behavior. He also isn't whining about refs. He has noted, however, how the refs are no longer calling legit calls in Burrows' favor because he's such a diving idiot. He's made his bed. He was losing his bad reputation but that chance is gone. For some reason, he doesn't feel his talent is enough. My husband assures me his talent IS enough and is disgusted with the way he has acted. They might win the cup but they've got a lot more people who hate them than they did before. They've even stated that they do not care...even THEY are not oblivious to how much their reputation has fallen. They simply don't care...and why would they? If they cared, they wouldn't resort to the tactics they resort to.

The media are a mean bunch...they love a story at any ones exspense..they have over blown many of the sequences thru the play offs which has lead to a lot of the hatred between games and during. It is a shame that the coverage is what it is today... Last night the hit on Raymond was another example of the officiating allowing one team to play under a different set of rules over the other.. The puck was long gone and he was continued to be crunched into the Boards...lying on the ice like he was, there was no strechter brought out for him..as he couldn't even stand on his feet, he was like a rag doll..no penalty was called for the late boarding call as innocent as it looked, you could hear the crunch on the boards, he was hit, pretty hard ... As I sit here watching the tape of last nites game, the erie hit on Raymond and the complete disregard for his health and safety is beyond belief..The referee did nothing...I hope the play is reviewed but it probally won't be, it was so late you could put it on the next shift and it still would be late and uncalled for..Boston Fans are booing as they are taking raymond away, now that is disgusting.. We really started out well , were unlucky around the net early, but you could see that the terrible ice conditions were already forming..it is a disaster in Boston...there was so much slush out there...the canucks really could barely skate..Boston had trouble as well but seemed to be moving better at times, which is puzzling , how can it be they can move better on this same slush pond. Our keeper was just not set for the first goal, it was a reg save...he missed it and then gave up a few more.. It was early but the officiating kept Vancouver back on their heels..Some calls were penalties that was fine , how ever the ones missed and not called on Boston were as well..We had a few that finally ended up giving us a chance, but as soon as we looked like we were going to get back in this thing , the officials knocked us down..Sedin was repeatedly punched in the face with the ref right there and no call, Thomas preceeded to skate around the back of the net and spear kessler the ref is looking then turns his head away.... The Vancouver Canucks took 19 hours to get to Boston , flight delays ect this time, they went to a resturant for dinner and after been there a while were told they ran out of food...do not understand why there is three days between all Boston travel days and only two at our end... Do not know what is in store for us on Wednesday..with the NHL officials doing everything in their power to keep us from winning the Championship,I am afraid as tough as we are at home..it is going to be a lot togher..if we are robbed of the cup, the fans will go crazy, if we lose fair and square then it won't be bad..The NHL and the Media have created this Monster. Last nite in the Warm ups..Thorton came over and shot a puck at luongo..nothing was done about that after he did it he taunted him, he taunted during the game, yet he was allowed too with out penalty, he should have been suspened for that.. The canucks just took it as nothing happened...the leaque will as well..I am sure of it.. So off to the last game of the year.. No prediction because I have no clue what is in store..Just have to cheer for our team...hope they can level out this huge hill they have to climb..

It's been amazing (and depressing) to watch. Vancouver fans seem oblivious to the reputation they're earning. As to your history as an athlete...meh. I'm not impressed. You think anyone who doesn't see it the way you do has no credibility or ability. You told vbdad he had NO idea what hockey is about and he played at a high level. Ridiculous. I don't respect ANY athlete who gives so many excuses for bad play, especially when they always seem to complain about how unfair things are or how it's some grand plot against their team. It's embarrassing. I'm sure we could find dozens of bad calls that went in the Canucks' favor throughout the playoffs and this series. Nature of the sport. Just because you don't like a call doesn't mean it's a plot or unfair. Lots of things are not called, especially during the playoffs and it always goes both ways. That's such common knowledge...don't have to be an "athlete" to know that. Apparently the Canucks have resorted to a different style of playing during the playoffs than during the regular season. I've read numerous articles about how they've changed and have resorted to lame tactics. People (who do not hate them) are baffled as to why they've chosen to change their style of play. Baffled and, most of all, irritated. Due to their behavior the past few weeks, people are beginning to assume that they're always embellishing and diving and that they're a dirty team. I think that *new* reputation has really hurt them and the refs simply aren't buying into their antics anymore. Is it fair...I don't know. The Canucks say they don't care if they make friends but reputations matter ON ICE as well as off. As to the crowd in Boston, I can't answer for them. I would never boo anyone when they're hurt. Some people who were there say they were chanting "Luongo" and chanting for the Bruins, not against Vancouver. I think both accounts are biased. I dunno...I wouldn't participate in either of those activities. Not cool. I would have NO problems if Boychuk was suspended. I know the refs have their excuses about why they didn't even penalize it, just like the NHL chose not to see Burrows shove the glove into his mouth. (Disproportionate comparison, I know.) Cooke was suspended for 17 games for a hit and McDonough wasn't even hurt. Again, it's his reputation (definitely not defending Cooke) that caused that long of a suspension. The league's decisions can be baffling and seem unfair. It's funny that such a seasoned, knowledgeable athlete such as yourself only sees things as "unfair". I hope that Raymond heals quickly from whatever injury he has. I don't think it was a clean hit at all. It a lot worse than the Rome hit. Whining about fairness aside, the thing that annoys me the most during this series are fans on both sides of the aisle saying that the other team SUCKS, are bad players and one team or the other is going to humiliate the other team with their greatness. I'm also tired of hearing the USA vs. Canada thing. It's all so STUPID.

I'd like to think that the league is trying to send a very clear message about hits but, honestly, I think Boychuk should have gotten a penalty at the very least. I am getting over a little nerf concussion (minor)...it's been horrible. And even a month later, I still get symptoms out of the blue. True, I'm a 39 year old woman who isn't in the best of shape...can't compare to a 20 year old athlete. But even a slight one is awful. I'd take a muscle or bone injury over it any day. I know there's been some talk of Horton faking his injury. I don't buy that for a second. If I was Horton, nothing would have kept me away from the games, injured or not. I don't think most athletes would fake their injuries for more than a few moments or so. Here's to hoping that Raymond makes a quicker than expected recovery!
