My face was still sort of puffy from all the steroids and I didn't feel at all attractive. I was really looking forward to my trip to Disneyland. When I entered through the turnstiles I was wearing a hat and the poor lady checking my pass asked me if I would take it off. Saying that she "needed to check ..." and here I cut her off extremely rudely and most likely with tears in my eyes and said "if I'm really bald?" She looked really embarrassed, and I was humiliated and surprised that I had become so upset. It was an obvious thing that she needed to do to make sure that I matched my photo, and she was only following the rules, but it really got to me at the moment. I think being there and being excited to get in and have a lovely time is sort of a bit of pressure. You've gone through the trouble of arriving, getting whoever is in your group there with you, there's a lot of anticipation built up, and if something goes wrong I think it can be more upsetting than one would expect. I am a "grown woman," and generally am polite and handle myself pretty well. I try to treat everyone with respect and politeness and understand that those working at Disneyland have to put up with a lot. This is the only time throughout my treatment while walking around looking somewhat bizarre that I lost my cool, and I just think there's a bit more pressure in a situation like this than I was aware of somehow, so I think at least I for one should give the guy's wife the benefit of the doubt.

Had she gone wanting to actually go to Disneyland on her b-day would this article even be written? The gift card was only meant to be given out if you already had a valid way into the park on your birthday. Nancy did not and didn't intend on going in at all.

In your situation, even though the request from the CM was fairly innocuous in most situations, I completely understand why you were upset. And there was absolutely nothing that you did wrong. I don't think the blogger's wife's situation was anywhere close to that. They had no intention of going into the park. They went there for the sole purpose of getting her freebie gift card, a card she wasn't entitled to because neither of them bothered to actually pay attention to the terms of the promotion. In some situations, I could maybe understand where a $69 gift card could be a huge deal, a make-or-break, we get to do things with that money that we'd never be able to do otherwise. Going out on a limb, I'm going to assume that the $69 wasn't a make-or-break, life-changing amount of money for that couple. Dalia3001 - On a separate note, I'm sorry the CM ended up upsetting you, but I hope you had a good rest of the day. I've got one friend who has finished her chemo and is now doing radiation, and another friend who finished his chemo and will be doing his bone marrow transplant in the coming weeks, so I can imagine all that you've had to go through. /cs

It's mostly saturdays through mid Aug and then some other days in fall including 3 days for Thanksgiving and the week from Christmas eve - NYE. https://secure-disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/ap/index?name=AnnualPassholderGatewayPage&appRedirect=http://disneyland.disney.go.co...dingPage

The food and wine festival was going on at the time, and we really enjoyed ourselves. cs - I'm thinking good thoughts for your friends going through treatment. The bone marrow transplant was tough, but thankfully it seems to have worked, so it was well worth it! I just celebrated my second year of clean scans, only three more years to go until they call me completely cured and I don't even have to be scanned anymore. : )

Some SO CAL and DELUXE passholders also whine when they don't get the 10 per cent discount in stores that PREMIUM passholders get. I was very happy to see a promotion that rewarded all Disney annual passholders in some way. As to no one wishing her a happy birthday.. that tells me that they were really not playing nicely. I wore a birthday button on my birthday and received enough "Happy Birthdays" to last a lifetime! LOL!

Yes, at first I argued and said "No we're not!" But the CM at the booth showed me a calendar and sure enough...we were! Did I cry and say it wasn't fair? No, we pulled around and left and felt stupid for not checking a calendar to see if we were blocked that day (turns out it was Grad Night in June). I didn't act like a big baby, I just made sure I checked the dates before I went from then on. In fact, we make a joke of it now. That lady needs to grow up.

I have friends who have gotten away with parking in there a time or two when they were blocked just so they could go to Downtown Disney. I never bothered trying.
