Jeez, I'm sorry, but, I have to ahhh, I have to...work late at the office. Yea, that's it, late at the office. I have a lot to do, I may even have to stay overnight here in the city, probably sleep on the floor of my office. My boss is such a tyrant. Anyway, see you as soon as I can...we'll talk then.

Actually she gives Americans everywhere a bad name.

I was JUST talking to fellow employees today about a news story where a woman in Podunk South Virginia got a massive payout because she was arrested for swearing at her blocked toilet. The judge deemed her free to swear because and thus she was rewarded for her foul mouth.

The rest of the world has a saying that is usually followed by an eye roll,

    "Only in America".

FYI...I heard that some thread on LP has gone way Off Topic. We must find it and reign it in.

Sadly what once was often jealously is now dead on commentary.

I realized that this summer in China when I had to explain things like George Bush, the religious zealots that have taken over the Republican Party, and ... oh yeah, American Idol!

Things like getting on a swing, riding a real elevator, or riding a car over a moderately hilly road (the ones that make you get that weird feeling) seem a whole lot more manageable than riding ToT over and over.

And yes, most things in America have gone way overboard. We cry foul at even the slightest thing, and our legal system allows it! It all seems very ridiculous to me at the moment.

Quite frankly, we need a strong President to curtail these kinds of things going on, but neither of the candidates seem a likely candidate to do this.

You should try being a teacher. Kids aren't given any personal responsibility anymore. It's either the teacher's fault or another child's fault if something happens at school. I'm getting really sick of hearing the phrase, "My child would NEVER do that."

I'm also getting sick of parents threatening other children with bodily harm (yes, you read that right) because their child was knocked over or had a football throw at him. I'm not condoning the actions of the other kids, but are normal 5th grade dustups really a reason for an adult to threaten a 10 year-old? Is there ever a case where an adult should threaten to harm a 10 or 11 year-old?
